First of all! It's nice that I found a diy. sim page like this. In the beginning I would never thought building my own simulator that easy! Thank you all to who made this happen!:)

Started a few month ago with my 2dof project. I found two old wormgear bed motors in the shed. Found out that the gear was made from plastic, oeps, they didn't last long. Found some on ebay with a proper metal gear. Next thing the controller, Arduino and two motomonster boards. Second hand racing chair. Two Industrial 360 pots. And not to forget an old drive shaft from an 69' Volvo Amazone, lol. The tutorial from RufusDufus was very handy. Used the motomonsters in bridge mode.
Everything worked out as well, with some help of my friends.
I had some issues with the amount of movement from the gearmotors. Couldn't get it right with axes limiting in simtools. The movements started at +/_ 20% and full turn at 26 %. that wasn't good.
Thanks too the update smc3 v7 with pot scaling in it, works like a charm!!!
Some pics from a few weeks ago.
I made the frame as it is on the pic, to work with flight sim as well, and adjustable stear angle and hight.
Will post some new pics tomorrow!

Just something you may want to consider, you will improve movement and reduce strain on the motors by having the seat mounted as close as possible to the universal joint. Your call but this would help:

I throught I did it right! It would make sense. I saw some models that were a little bit different. I had some doubts on this to give problems. So the best option is to put the joint the middle of the seat you recommend?
    Thanks for your advice!

Its not so much the middle of the seat, but right under it at the best balance point. Get your arse as close to the pivot as possible.

I had some problems with the Potentiometers. Didn't use some flexibele shaft couplings. Because of friction between motor axe and potetiometer.

And unfortunately that is the downside to hard mounting a Pot, Flex coupler's can be hand for rather cheap on Ebay or on AliExpress. Just size it to what you need.
