just a quick video of a real car with as close to real view from onboard.
i have been messing with fov and finding it hard to settle on a single setting and following any instructions for working it out.
thing is either too slow and has no speed or feels the track is very short for distants but finding this video is my next try and to see if i copy that it becomes more real.

on some cars if i move the so called seat back you actually see the seat pop up, so thats not moving a seat back thats moving further back in the seat ! lol
theres lots of videos im going thru but this is a hemet cam at eye level and on the side.

im running triple 50" screens so this should be easy to get right you would think ! :)
add some other videos if you have any i would love to see more if i have not seen them.

    thnks for link tombo.
theres a programme i got and you just put measurements in and tells you i will try find it.

im such an idiot lol i said above about a programme to work out the fov turns out it was when you used the in game triple screen setup for assetto corsa where it asks for screen size and things lol.
its the triple monitor app not the fov app.

FOV a curly one. Generally I only play bonnet view, but ive run 24 " to 32" to 40". I think most of the time my screens are spaced infront of me as follows.
I sit in the chair and I reach out with with a straight extended arm and I set the screen about where my finger tips just touch the screen. Thats a very general idea on setting.

ha ha ive done that before it does work tbh that way but so many setting to play with i just want the spedd to feel good and be realistic to watch, then can move myself into it more then just feel track looks small on the triple screen settings in assetto corsa tbh.

wow was having a play last night trying to sort my fov settings out and boy when you get it almost right its defo the way to go close for real feel, i can actually tell my car width now on track, still carn't drive tho ! lol
but i love it now so just gotta test a few cars out see what its like.
it was the fact i had just thrown it together and my screens were set where i want them for the next part of my build so i was sat too low to get anything to work with the field of view. ( i sort of new this might be the issues so i changed it to the next step i needed anyway then i played )
so i spent yesterday tweaking put my rig on bricks (lol) as was getting it set for the dash build hight and now its getting there with the real feel.
its defo going in the right direction and its going to fall into place when my dash is built i think.
but its great when it comes together but don't help when my left screen dies. doh
the speed comes back once a few things fall into place and all screens work right together, that is very important i found for the speed.
why i never built a motion sim years ago is beyond me :-(

i can defo say its no good going realistic close in car for single screen tho, but defo for triple screen atm, with alot of testing and alot of time its really worth it in time go with what feels right not what maths tells you adjust it to math then adjust to feel from there and your not gunna get it wrong, but if you try to go with the maths side only then say its crap then doin't bother then that is defo wrong. tune it to you not the math everyone is diffrent but going that way towards feel and adjusting the soo called wrong stuff fromt the math can and will most likely result in a WOW THATS BETTER :) but only be a little off the math on some bits.
mines way out atm still tho as im still not in the right place but with what i have found i would be well chuffed with that tbh so if it gets any better i can only be more amazed than i am right now.
i will be including all this in my build thread tho and be updating with pics soon.

have you used the in game triple screen setup as you don't use those setting. unless your on single screen that is. the triple screen setup in the game is wicked and lets you adjust everything needed to get it right math or no math situations but for the right feel.

I find that getting the FOV setting adjusted right for your liking is the most important. Changing the seat position shouldn't have any effect on speed but it does effect corner entry and the overall presence of the car. Each game is different though and even different cars from the same game are setup completely different. So ya ...it's a constant battle.

Hi been messing and found this link which is usefull for all screens and single and all sizes for your FOV.
If nothing else it puts you in the right area, as i find its a personal thing too, I'm still messing with mine still not settled on it as yet which i like the best.
