was reading this http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/wheel-and-pedals-geometry.5877/#post-63124 where i seen the exact thin g i was going to build but not for the purposs of moving for seating but more for actually moving the wheel real time with a seat mover as in forwards and backwards.
if was to have two springs that keeps it central while steering but the on a force when seat moves it just moves with you forward or backwards ?

if that didn't work plan be was attach a lever and make it a mechanical device, where you can find the sweet spot from the seat for a lever and have that run to another that then moves the wheel in time with the seat moving, i would think it would need extending rods and holes in levers to get the fine tune setup.

sound any good to you proffessionals what i am thinking ?
or what im asking if its been tried both ways.

    thanx all.

gunna buy my drawing pad n pens tomoz need to get things on paper.

    now thats interesting.
So you are thinking of putting wheels and pedals on some sort of surge table?
The adjustable wheel pedal thingy I had was @eaorobbie idea. It was excellent as I had shorted drivers on the former hire sims, so I could slide the pedals closer to the driver and adjust the wheel height down. So it suited 4 foot to 6 ish foot players.
I can tell you NO ONE ELSE with sims around town, static and certainly not motion had adjustments like that. It was "one size and if you are not that size, too bad".

mines adjustable length and very easy to adjust will show picture what lad did before to extend it.
thats a great thin k tho to bring those that struggle to have ago on the things that restrict normally them trying something :)

as what i was thinking if you get the mech in the riught place it really would work by your set up nothing else needed t you could inclube the pedals to try and have a seperate mech on other side seat where you can set it up with diffrent travels if needed.
the idea is that from when you seated you get the kick of a seat mover but still but you stay in exactly the same postion you first say in and everything else will move when the seat move but set up to via arm lengths ( abit like a servo horn on rc car several holes to adjust).
the horn would be attached to the seat wovement so its always doing what the seat does at the exacxt timing when tuned the lengths.
you could also use a seperate actuator thats programmed up to move the whole thing seperate.
but my guess is it would be more acurate if was connected to the seat actual movement for any timing issues of being seperate.
i would think worth a try with counter acting springs on the runners so its enough to hold still but any forward or rear pressure it would mmove amount need while you holding it arm dont bend.
i really think its worth looking into, i am going to try if i can find enough bits but im trying enjoy it all for abit before i rip it to bits again.
so i will be working on dash before i play with ideas like this.
but thought i would say as you made the runner and half way there to play if you wanted and still have that.

corrected the thread title as i was looking at what you had made bsft and lost track what i was doing and was mainly going off that bit you had made.
i for got i was doing a thread as i originally was typing a reply. but thought a thread was better as incorparates a good new idea to bring forward
or a bad one ! lol

i did say when my mind starts it don't stop.

i will always throw things out in the open no matter if the idea are good been done or bad the idea of my thinking to move things forward or better just getting to start somewhere to trigger ways or ideas so i just say it.
i know most things are prob coverd or tried but its such a big site some times a thread is best.
