    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF, 3DOF, 4DOF
I am building a 4dof motion simulator platform. In my previous design I used Delta ASDA-B2 AC servo drive and motors which worked fine. In order to reduce costs I changed the design to use Delta VFD-B with asynchronous AC motors coupled with an encoder using and additional extension card on the VFD( PG01 card), but to my suprise the VFD only generates speed outputs and I was forced to use open-loop designs. In both scenarios the drive is directly connected to the PC through an RS-485 converter.
I did a quick search in the forums but couldn't quite make out what control structure and connections are used.
I would appreciate help on the matter.

This is the AC guide in the FAQs and @speedy is a good person to give more specific advice about AC projects: http://www.xsimulator.net/community...-every-thing-needed-for-motion-simulation.43/

Thanks guys ... but I'm not that much .

Can you please describe here in details how they worked fine in a 4dof motion simulator platform ?
please share your experience on such servo system so maybe we can help reducing the cost .

    Thanks ...

I am trying to build my own actuator and i was wondering about the same Delta motor (ECMA-C20807RS) and ASD-B2-0721-B drive.

I have a few questions for you.

Did you used these motors as actuators?
    How was the performance?
Does it compatible with Thanos board?

    Thank you

This is a really old thread, which has not been updated since 2015, it pre-dates current servo use, @Thanos controller and DIY actuators.
