Hum. Is it per week or per month ?
In the coin shop I see:
    Coins 250 / week
Even a week would be enough anyway to grab the required plugins.

I see a few members here with MORE than enough coins to spare and could save people having to shell out the money for a download package.
Buying the package is not needed.
Hand out some of your overload of coins people!

I am running a competition, where everybody can earn up to 2000 coins. IMO any little effort of our new members can't hurt to get some coins...

I agree with @Pit: giving coins prevents people to contribute or to give some money which is good for the forum and website

but I like to give from time to time to whom shares ideas, links and pictures!

@speedy , @Pit , obviously my remarks are falling on deaf ears.
If this TRULY was a DIY community where other help out, they would do the same with spare coins.
The software is free and always has been.
The download package cost is absurd. Who is it really supporting? I dont see any results?
If its keeping this website open, well I was lead to believe that the adds posted all over the site are paying for that.
So where is the money going then?
Just how much is a download pack? I recall it used to be 29 euros and recently I heard of a price increase to 49 euros.
If this is so, them WTF?
how come its 20 euros more?
Or am I going to be shoved aside again and possibly be claimed that I am making this site look bad again with negativity.
Would not be the first time I have put people under the thumb and they refuse to squirm.

Same to you @bsft. If we are sharing coins by giving ratings no buying of any packages is probably needed (in the most cases) . And like you I am willing to share any coins to new members but carefully selected. You share coins as much as you have, great mindset which I do respect.

PS: some expenses of the website and server should be covered, and why not the outgo of yoboddy and value1, they have spent xxxxxx hours to bring us a software we need (no real alternative available).

    Not a F....KING CENT!
So maybe its time to show you what really going on!

That is disappointing to hear @bsft. I paid for a download package not because I needed SimTools urgently, but because I assumed it was helping/rewarding the developers who have obviously spent a lot of time to develop a package that our motion simulators would be useless without.

    From the coins FAQ thread:

    • We are able to pay out our main SimTools and Plugin developers as well as our main supporting guys expense allowance. This helps to improve the development of SimTools and our service and website infrastructure
For the moment all developments and helping hands are working completely for free in their sparetime. They are all doing a great job but this can be improved when we are able to compensate their time exposure with financial support.
If you @bsft believe that you are right please clear things up to @RaceRay.

I am aware of that being in this post @Pit, but where is it in the FAQs?

@noorbeast, not in the FAQ itself but in the mentioned thread which explains the use of "income". Anyway this fact has been cleared up and posted by RaceRay, ergo I proceed on the assumption that it is true - in dubio pro reo :) It is not our issue, if the developers are not agree or do not accept anything they have to react but not us.
PS: thread above edited and link added.

I had cast no aspersions @Pit, I was just asking about the FAQ status as I was aware of the post but not a linked FAQ listing.

The simtools developers had an "agreement" with Rene that they would be paid a portion of the proceeds of the gold memberships.
The site pays for itself with the adds, that and the site is one of 40 or so hosted on the same server.
The simtools guys are not getting properly paid.
Well that will change soon enough.

@bsft ... Why you are keep getting off topic ?
Staff issues "IF THERE IS /IF YOU ARE " should be discussed in PM's ...

Making a "Competition with coins Reward " ... or a coins sharing system based on how much we like or rate the posts ... or even giving coins with our free will for other members we like to kick start there projects ... Is the issue here .

chose what you prefer the most .... or give us a new idea to boost the community further up !

My suggestions to you is dealing with coins as if they are popcorn :popcorn
