i want to the same as its shown in this video , (just smaller 150kg weight )
i have 2 motor they have 20 rpm. 1 motor has 19rpm(have they all have to be the same)
am not using without a center spring .
i have chose this one, witch is faster 19rpm.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEW-SA47D...719?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43da2bb69f

i have contacted the seller he said he has 2 same motors witch the speed of them is 20rpm.
foto off them is on the top, thank you for your time and help.

It's OK ... I guess 19 - 20 RPM are not a big deference ...So go ahead and buy those if decent price for you ...
as a higher speed for both of them can be achieved through the VFD configuration later ...
just test those motors for full 2-3 minutes free run to see if they gets warm due to any mechanical jam or any sqeeck sound comes out of those old bearings ... I know they may have only refilled the gearbox oil ...

I'd like you to ask if he can provide you with the 30mm shafts for gearboxes ... and if he has a suitable 7-10CM CTC "center to center" crank arm ... and the fastening bolts or a mounting brackets for the gearbox base cause I don't see any threads in the mounting hols into the third flipped up side down motor.
    Good luck .

If at all possible before you buy, please check for play in the output shaft in relation to the input shaft, there should be no play between the two. I think the best way to check for play is to slowly rotate the motor shaft one way until the output shaft just starts to move, then rotate it the other way until the output starts to move. If there are more than 1/10th of a turn of play, I would stay away because the motor will be "clanking" on direction changes and your sim-platform could be wobbly...

    Cheers

Nice advice @DanielDk ... Although I hope the seller allow hem to do such test by removing the fan cover to access the motor shaft ... I guess even so by worst case the motor will not "clank" as the crank arm will be always forced to lift the platform up in all cases with no wobbly chance ...

Yeah didnt think of that :thumbs

So depending on the design (ie no center support or other offloading devices) he may get away with play in the gearbox because of gravity taking up the slop. But he should do the test anyway - may be able to haggle the price down no matter the amount of play :) hehee

    Cheers

Good motors/gearheads that you found...........no doubt that they are helical gear.
PROBLEM "me" sees....................Output is too slow - one motor 19 rpm / one motor 20 rpm / couldn't make out the third.........
IF you are only going to do flight sim, they would work, but not trying to use the platform for both flight/race sims.............too slow..............
my output is 60:1 with 1800 rpm motors - gear output is 30 rpm for each motor/gearhead...........which will NOT give me as radical of movements and the "seat-mover" style motion sim..........
but, at almost 68 years of age, just maybe my old brain can be tricked enough to allow super good movement.........if not, I can still raise the frequency in VFD as a last resort.

@misoswan ... you can't just pop in and ask for a simulator like in the video but smaller ...

@cthiggin ... 19-20rpm will give hem a 120 degree angular velocity per second when running on normal 50Hz ... increasing that in VFD to 70Hz would give hem the 180 degree per second = traveling distance = 2 X crank arm length .

If your gear output of the motors is only 19-20rpm you need a lever which is ~ 15 cm long to reach the needed speed of a seat mover. The longitude is dependent from the torque, weak motors are not able to move such long levers under weight fast and effectively.

hmm, dunno - if I may suggest something - if you are not familiar with electronics in your stead I would have many doubts by entering the AC world. Most notably if you have never build any simulators before. In the 12v world many things can happen without loosing too much money or life, anyway you will earn the experience for bigger things once upon the time. Only my 0.0002 cents... ;)

BTW: your motion simulator is already very impressive: "2DOF, 3DOF, DC motor, AC motor, SCN5, SCN6, SimAxe, Arduino, JRK, Joyrider, SimforceGT, Motion platform, 4DOF, 6DOF". Hopefully you did not forget anything! :grin

    @misoswan & @speedy

I made my statement about "20 rpm being too slow" - based on my two years of researching "platforms" for just Flight Sim
The majority of commercial platform type sims, ie: CKAS, using AC motors - I have NOT seen one with less than a 30 rpm output on gearheads. This is the reasoning behind the answer, along
with joining this forum two years ago, most of my replies were that 30 rpm was too slow (good for only Flight).............well, I've been very heavy into racing and want to accomplish both environments.

Others have said that there is no way for me to have the "simulation / or / simulation speed that is required for racing motion, such as the seat-mover.

In any event, with @speed's information for the degrees per second - "WITH an almost 6" gear lever" sounds very promising. I have again learned something.

My crankarms are 4" long, for a total +- 14 degrees of movement, plus my heave. I am aware that the longer the crankarm, the torque and motor output must be higher. This is the reason
I went with 1Hp Inverter Drive motors and a gearhead that outputs 112lbs of torque.

Again, I have learned from @speedy............and he's been very successful with an AC simulator.............

In summary, for me, IF the movement in my sim when I "RACE" is not adequate, then I still have the ability to increase frequency to get more out of if.
Listen to @speedy............he is one of our "heavy-hitters" here that are journeymen, not an apprectices'.

    Blessings,
    Tom
