Nice video @Radek vols , what did you use to add the upper right corner stuff?

I used to go to trackdays, but not using cars but my bike (Ducati 1098). 3/4 years since last time.
It's impossible to simulate bikes though, cause you drive a bike with your body, so to me just Assetto Corsa right now, hoping one day I'm able to go and drive @ Nordschleife with any GT3 car [MODE DREAM OFF]

Love them, unfortunately they can be so expensive and was the main reason I built a sim. Just a quick (not your usual boring video) video from me on what turned out to be a carnage of a day - first session red flagged due to oil -and cars running off the track everywhere - you will see me slowing down and sliding in it -:) at Easter Creek (now Sydney Motor Sport Park) through Australia's fastest corner - the next session one our club members went into the cement wall just before that turn at around 200+km (no video - do have photos - but won't show them - his motor blow up on the main straight and it sent him straight into the wall:eek:) - that closed the track for quite some time - he was fine apart from some bruising - car - rightoff.

SeatTime: Nice to hear your frind is OK, got a bad feeling when you wrote about wall and speed ... Mine video is boring until end of 4th lap. My brakes stoped working after streight befor final two turns. I managed to notice that soon enaugh and brake with hand brake so it was a little bit scary :D After the turn I said : I was born again :D

What brand is your ride ? :) Subaru WRX? :)

That would need pretty strong motors, since I don't think my wiper motors could move me from side to side :sos:D

have you seen my 2DOF? Those motors are 24V but i use only 12V so i thing on 24 it will be powerfull enough.

Or maybe use 4 wiper motors? 2 in front and 2 in back? or maybe use some centering spring to make it easier for them to put you back to vertical :) It seems like a decent project :D

Not as powerful as you guys but still fun!

AE82 corolla with 4AGE 20 valve conversion, sold it 3 years ago.

My other beast which I regrettably sold, KE30 with supercharged (AMR500) EFI 4K
One of my only videos, sounded like a beast. Didn't really go that fast though as it was only a 1.3 engine.
Didn't have any videos of it driving.

Now I have a new project which should go quite fast! It's an AE71 with SR20 Turbo conversion, full cage, big ass brakes (4 pot calipers), rear cradle converted to VL turbo rear end/disc brakes/spring suspension.
I'll be using it for Hill climbs, regularity and hopefully Time Attack!

    Lol found some old photos!

This one was before I upgraded to coilovers on the AE82, handled like a fat bastard on a pogo stick!

Then after suspension upgrade it had trouble going up the driveway!

A p plater bought the KE30 and no less than one week later he wrote the car off into a tree. The guy who bought my AE82 painted it matte black and got it defected one month after buying it from me.

This year I will drive some trackdays on Nordschleife using my Renault Megane RS stage one. Since Kunos released the laser scanned track it will be "easier" to drive this beast after hundreds of hours sim training :) It will be very interesting to experience the difference between real and sim.

I would really appreciate your feedback on the experience @Pit. Nords is now my default track and it would be interesting to get a real world comparison against how it feels in a real car compared to a well set up simulator like yours. Please make sure someone gets some video of you on the track.

@noorbeast I hope I can make some nice videos on track. More than 20 years ago I was on Nords, back then I was driving a Honda CRX. I was totally full of respect (and afraid) that after one round only I left the track. Of course the CRX had a very nervous and dangerous chassis and no crumple zone, it was better to give up than to die. Now time changed so it is time for a coming back :)

Lol , I spent 12 months at local track ,drift racing in an old skyline with a 6.2l V8 in it, but 4.5k a race day wife made me give it up.

Before that 15 years in speedway , racing side cars, had a little go in the sprintcars but at the time the old man (my sponsor) said no to a 450k sprintcar, come on Dad I won all my heats. But owner wouldn't let me race it in the Main.

Short spin in Formula Fords just before the GFC hit and Dad and I closed the workshop and I went back to the workforce, sux. But can say the AC mod for my local track is close but missing a lot of the elevation that's is actually on the track.

AC version of the nords looks and feel pretty good, had reports from mates overseas who have run the track professionally and yes its close, cars could be better, as in to them they don't seem that slippery in real life. So I feel practice on the Sim @Pit will aid in your return to the track. Best of luck, jealous of coarse who love to knock that off the bucket list. Good luck and safe driving.

Did track days in my Vette (long gone) while crew chiefing for my boss who is an SCCA racer. Bought an American Sedan Camaro to race myself in SCCA a few years into crewing for him. Did ok and ran Runoffs the few years it was only an hour away in Topeka, KS. Raced a few more years but wrecked the Camaro in 2011. Bought an LS1 Firebird to build then but it has been sitting ever since. I need to at least move it to the back of the shop where wife can't see it everyday and remind me to do something with it if you know what I mean!

I still am crew chief for my boss. He's been through several cars including a Radical SR3 and SR4, Mustangs, and Corvettes. Now just running a C6 Vette in GT2 with LS7. He has been on podium at a couple Runoffs - once at Topeka and once at Road America. We both work at a Chevy dealer - he's General Manager (why he can afford to race!) and I am Parts Manager. I have as much fun crewing for him as I do driving. I do still drive different cars often helping with setup and such. I have a good feel for how a car is handling - just never had the balls or wallet to be up front. You have to have a certain disregard for well-being to be stupid fast!

I built my sim because I cannot get the "feel" of a car in a racing game. It has helped but TBH I have been struggling with nausea when using it for racing. i have been racing with no motion often. Hopefully I can overcome it because I really like the feel, at first - lol. I actually have the same problem when instructing on track in passenger's seat. Guess I am a big whuss! Never a problem when behind the wheel in a real car though. Weird.

    Anyway, that's my story. :thumbs

Just some suggestion @kopper regarding feeling off.

You may just be sensitive but generally feeling off is caused by a mismatch between what you see and feel and what your brain thinks it should be. If it is the motion that induces the feeling then likely your motion profiles need more refinement. Perhaps focus on the haptic side of forces rather than gross movement.

For many people who are sensitive GinSeng can help if taken before you start.

Last, you should stop as soon as you feel the slightest bit off, as pushing it only tends to make the unpleasant effects last so much longer, which for some people is hours after they have stopped. Small amounts of the experience often generally allows most people to become acclimatised. If you push it and make yourself feel ill your body will remember that and the natural reaction is to heighten the sensitivity in future experiences.
