Not yet @SeatTime. I have had some issues with trying to get the freetronics eleven arduino clone to run @eaorobbie's RC code, not sure why yet, but everything else is in place for it. I will sort the profiles and Prepar3D first, as I have very limited time in January.

What I can say if someone is going to use the Ard he should use SMC3 code as well. This code has been proven, it is including many options and last but not least very fast. IMO the other codes would do the job too but SMC3 is well sophisticated. What I can admit if there are any issues I can be sure it is not SMC3.

Not sure if the SMC3 code runs RC Servos.

That's all my code does. Runs RC Servos only, for DC motors and Ard use I would not use anything else but the SMC3 , proven to be No1 for Ard.
    Totally agree on that Pit.
But feel @noorbeast is building a model ?

@eaorobbie I have to confirm I forgot totally the servos. So nice to have your code to drive them. Because I never tried servos this fact was out of my mind.

Yes I am using RC servos.

It was a while ago I had a play with the arduino. Had to use different drivers to get it to connect, got a supplied test sketch to run, loaded @eaorobbie's code OK, but had no movement in the servos. I have not really had time to play with it since.

Thanks @eaorobbie I will take you up on that.

I am really busy through to the end of January so I am concentrating on getting some basic profiles sorted and getting Prepar3D to run.

I am pulling it apart again tomorrow to finish off the subwoofer including running the wires through the post, doing a temporary cover and temporary JRK placement with single fan, mounting the bar for the rear speakers, making up some PSU clamps plus a little detailing.

Once I have it functional and can at least enjoy it a bit I can go back to fiddling with the surge setup. I am already set to build the traction loss after the surge gets sorted.

    Much appreciated @michto35.

I pulled it apart again today. The new cover for the potentiometers is pretty much done as is mounting the sound gear for the built in subwoofer and speakers, including external volume control and audio jack.

I have done some temporary work including mounting the JRKs and USB hub. Both will be changed when I do the proper fiberglass cover and add sway, but that is likely some months away, so for now I am tidying stuff up so the DX Racer is at least usable for a while without the mess.

I should have some photo updates tomorrow. The sound deadening will be added to the center post and the wiring will be run through it prior to installing the bass speaker. An external USB plate will be mounted on the outside of the post. I also hope to get the mount plate made for the buttkicker and the chrome bar attached to the back of the seat for the rear speakers.

The DX Racer sim is still in bits, the fiddly stuff takes time and at the moment that is more time than I had planned. Some happy snaps of just some of those fiddly things.

The potentiometers have a new cover. The fan that is floating loose in the picture does a variety of LED lighting effects and will live temporarily at the rear under a billet cover. Some months down the track I will do a proper fiberglass cover for the base and it will house 2 of these fans.

    20141231_181457.jpg

There is now an internal USB cable running through the frame to the pedals, so it is easy to swap pedals between race and flight.

    20141231_181601.jpg

The post has had a major rework. Sound deadening has been added, the subwoofer speaker is ready to install, a plate has been made for the side which will house 3 USB outlets to connect controls along with a braided line that carries other wires through the post from the base to the seat.

Last, here are some of the pretty billet aluminum wire clamps that you won't get to see once the temporary cover is in place.

Some things did not go to plan and fitting the rear chrome speaker bar on the back of the seat has been one of them. I am hoping I can duck into the hardware on the way to a New Years BBQ tomorrow for some additional supplies.

Some more shots and a brief video of some of the latest additions...I hope these give a good idea of the 'compact' almost minimalistic style of my sim.

A peek inside, which includes the JRKs and their fighter style switches, audio amp board, volume control, audio out and power supply, as well as fan, fan speed control switch and variable led light display selector. The fan is mounted inside the rails.

Here you can see the billet fan cover, simple but effect battery brace bolts and braided wire covering.

    20150102_131339.jpg

Some shots of the assembled base with new carbon fiber style covers. The subwoofer has been mounted inside the post and there are build in USB ports in the post as well.

Here is a close up of JRK switches, the LED light and fan control switches, and the audio volume and audio out socket on the back of the sim.

The Buttkicker has been added to the back of the seat.

Yeah...I borrowed the flux capacitor from Emmett Brown to generate the necessary 1.21 Giga Watts!
