Maybe stop drinking and driving at the same time

I'm joking... Do you have already experimented such sickness yourself? On what type of simulator?
    Give us more information ;)

    how to avoid simulator sickness?
    Dont play on one.
Sims will wear out parts in time, just like a real car, but sims are cheaper to fix than a real car.

Motion sickness? - Two ginger tablets 20 minutes prior to racing - great for sea sickness also.

I suppose some people might regard our hobby/obsession as a "motion sickness". :D

Agree if you suffer motion sickness from driving a real car then ya gunna get sick in a sim.
Plus a lot of real life race driver report of motion sickness from 6dof sims and big 3dof sims because the motion is not what their bodies are use too hence the unwell feeling, actual funny thing I saw on a F1 interview they didn't like the 6dof machine at all and preferred a way cheaper seat mover claiming it felt so much more like being in the cockpit (RedBull driver).

Gotta wonder if the original poster is a troll. My apologies if you are not but to post something like that and then disappear is suspicious.

    Hey guys,
I get sea sick - and have real problems when I go deep sea fishing, or on a cruise -
I used to get my dr. to give me "mescaline patches" you put behind your ear, about the size of a nickel....they would absolutely STOP sea/motion sickness....however, they would dry your mouth out like you had cotton stuffed in it, but it would screw with your vision, AFTER you removed it, for about 10 hours............BUT, again no motion sickness...........good trade off.

Few years ago talked with a fellow who was plagued with vertigo, and motion sickness........upon discussing it, I asked him did he use the "patch"........he said they worked, but he could not tolerate the side effects.....
He then told me he used, over-the-counter ginger tablets........("me" thought he was BS'ing me), and he swore by them............NEXT time out, I used the ginger tablets, and hells bells, it worked...........and no side effects....so for those that have simulator motion sickness, may be the answer.

I didn't thinks my Simulator had enough motion, to make any one sick.
A couple weeks ago, I had a friends wife driving Dirt for around 10 minutes ,and she had to run ,to toilet, a spew and felt unwell for the rest of the night .
    thanks domenic

    ergh, thats no good.
Still most people may have not tried to spend time focusing on a screen while getting shaken around. Hence feeling crook.
Does she suffer motion sickness from a car?
Or got it for amusement rides at the fair?
And I guess your mates rest of the night was then ruined......;)

    hyper1966,
Any person can become sea sick or "motion sick"....just depends on the person. Some folks can go out on a boat in the middle of the ocean and be fine for days - others start getting sick as soon as they leave the pier. Same with car sickness........it's a middle-ear problem sending the wrong information to the brain (about head and eye position) - it becomes disrupted and all of a sudden you want to throw up or at least have
nausea ( and some even get diarrhea).
I'm one of those folks that get motion sick on the water - not cars, or amusement rides, just water.........so when I do go out, as stated earlier, I take ginger tablets (works better than anything I have found and they're cheap) - and I'm fine.
Maybe one of your wife's friend is one of those..............and if so, it doesn't take "MUCH" motion at all to make you motion sickness.

    Domenic,
You will be very very happy with results. Have quite a few friends that get motion sick very easy and they swear by them.....cheap, and they don't make you groggy like dramamine does.

The Rift is (in)famous for inducing motion sickness. Latency is a major cause, where what you see and what you expect are slightly different. I have not yet built my sim but expect it would be similar, particularly for those already sensitive to motion sickness.

The bit I wanted to add for consideration is the advice I give people trying the Rift for the first time, as I guess it also applies to a sim...stop straight away if you start to feel the slightest bit queezy, don't wait thinking you will push past it. If you do wait the unpleasant effects of motion sickness persist, sometimes for hours. I am guessing that may have happened to hyper1966's friend.
