A new design for asking to explain my question. I like the Bsft solution... put the motors close to the knees. But as you can see in the image the distance beetwen the pivot and the point of attack of motor arm is only 15 cm. this means that I need a lot of torque. it would be better to have a greater distance to reduce the effort. Do you think this distance is good or too little? I don't understand how much is this distance in Bsft projet

I wish I could lighten the structure in the pedals and steering wheel to be able to move the center of gravity back and more so I can increase the distance between the point of balance and and the point of attachment of the arm motor

50:1 boxes on motors will move that, but that speed will only give you about 150mm per second with a 45mm ctc lever. The distance to the pivot is ok for a desk racer, but it may struggle a bit . I think mine was about 300mm away from pivot with 25:1 boxes. Mind you, the higher you can get the motors to connect, the better it will react. You need to set pivot at best point of balance, thats with you sitting on it with wheel and pedals on it as well.
    How heavy are you?

Non so se solo 15 cm dal perno al punto di attacco del moto sufficienti

Oh sorry! I do not know if 15 cm between the pivot and the point of attachment of the motors are sufficient. The lever is very short

I can try to increase this distance a bit trying to lighten the cantilever structure that maintains pedal and steering wheel allowing them to move the pivot back. But if this distance is too small and thus the lever arm is reduced so the engines are very strained. I'll be 'forced to move the engine behind the seat and I would avoid it

you need to make something up like I have done in this photo for the motors to connect to, doesnt matter where you put them, but in your case 15cm is too close. Need to make them 300mm or more away. So you can move the motors forward, but make a mount like I have done, so they connect higher than to bottom of the frame.

Yes I know its my foot motor mount.
Also, with lever length, depending on length , amount of actual travel used and distance from motors to pivot will change the actual total angle of travel up and down.
You really need to find a spot for the motors, its hard to advise until you nail that down.

yes im agree with you...15 cm its too close for a sim with pedals and steering movement.

I do not really like the solution of the engines on the basis of the pedal because in this way it becomes difficult to predict the length-adjustable pedals. what do you think of the solution of this design?

Just a suggestion how about nearer to the steering wheel line, or does that move too. ?

thats a RacingMat idea, which is not even his design. Not the best design, there is your body weight leaning against the motors that low.
Been there as well, didnt work well, hence the shoulder mount at the back is best.
You do not have to put the motors near the pedals, what I am suggesting is a small structure built up the side for the motors to connect.
What I am suggesting is an addition like this on either side of the frame
    distance am p rear_0002.jpg
the motors are not too far forward and they connect higher than the bottom of the frame.

    Hallo Guys!
I hope you all had a good weekend!
Listening the advice of @bsft I choose to place the engine in front. This solution allows me to minimize the overall dimensions
According to your experience, what are the ideal measurements of:
    A) from the center of the joint at the base of the seat
    B) difference in height from the center of the joint attack of engines
    C) between the attachment point and the center of the PTO shaft motors auctions
    D) drive shaft length
    See attached drawing

    Yep, thats about right.
The centre of the uni shaft should be as close to the bottom of the seat as possible
    difference in height ? pardon?
between the attachment point? Not sure what you mean there either
drive shaft length? do you mean actual length for cutting to size to use as a pivot?

    hi david!
    see attacched drawing
A ok.. should be as close to the bottom of the seat as possible
    B?

    Ok,
B, not important. you can have a long shaft as you like, my desk racer 180mm, my Dc motor seat mover 700mm shaft connecting motor levers to frame.
C this is the overall distance from the motors to the pivot. so how far is it then?
D measure the length you need and cut to size.
    Did I miss anything?
Have a look at this pic
    2014-03-21 14.17.48.jpg
your point on "b" not really important is a specific measurement. This is the guts of the desk racer and pivot of uni is right under the wood seat frame.
I just measured my length of the motor lever arms shaft and made them to size.

    thankS
B indicates the greater height of the point of attachment of the levers operated by the engines than the height of the centre of the uni shaft

so how high to you make the connection to the frame?
Is that what you are asking?
