    Yea ronald does a nice design but bungee cord, come on that cheating plus the motors need to compensate the strength of the cord, lol going back to the 90's in motion design. This can be done alot simpler and smaller and cheaper resulting in we hope (yet to be fully Tested) a 12v linear actuator that will handle around the 100-150kg per actuator, which hopefully will bring to life 3DOF - 6DOF units in the DC World and make it a no longer 240v area. Idea is to make it safe for the user and not risk frying yourself in 240v. lol.
    But overall nice but complex design, springs/bungee cords are a fail to me (my opinion only).

    Here is one of the questions that I've been wondering ....
    How did they manage to rise these big chimneys in the London Olympics 2012 Opening ceremony ...

    you may say my thoughts was only cornered in they will never hide this down to the earth .:grin

    Maybe the most satisfying answer for me till now is the ....
    Spiralift Telescoping Linear Actuator ... a sheet of hard metal like the clock spiral spring and should be with teeth in one side and holes in the other side ... Very smart Idea winding and unwinding up and down .

    It is not too bad, with a 4" lever that is about 2" per second which is exactly what my winch motors are doing. Granted, if the price gets up to what an AC motor usually goes for it would not be worth it but if you can get them sub 100.00 each and had the rest of the parts to get them going they (if you could get more) would make a darned nice flight simulator actuator as well as a sufficient racing simulator.

    I tried to fancy myself sitted inside
    It looks fantastic, isn't it?



    I asked to see the same under 90kg payload to confirm my opinion :)

    It's built with Sabertooth 2x25 controllers, Thanos 6DOF board, BFF 6DOF motion driver, BFF actuator design with major improvements, Unite Motors MY1016 DC motors

    @prodigy , with the help of @eaorobbie , we are building a pair of BFF actuators as well, but a shorter version for race with 200mm throw, not 400mm. And in HDPE plastic, not wood.
    I am getting Robs help as he is far more expertise than me in building such things.

    Wow @RacingMat ... that's really cool fast movements ... very good balance too :thumbs

    I wonder what is the source of such rough sound when moving fast ? ... is it because the direct gears tooth sound amplified with the wooden frame could make that noise ?

    This looks to be the same rig with a person in it. But it is not going through the same test.

    I am experimenting in retrofitting bigger motors/feedback onto some cheap screw actuators that I have acquired, just waiting for some parts to turn up... My plan is to keep the frame very light.

    @RacingMat , the parts are with Rob, so as he is on the other side of the country, its not like I can drop over and bug him. He is taking his time to get them right, which is very good of him. Maybe a few weeks they will be shown on site. I dont have the tools here to complete them, he does.
    My converted brick spreader actuators are a bit noisy as well, especially the right hand one

    Mind you, the bearing needs replacing, but until it breaks, it stays.
    Yes the BFF design is a bit noisy, but nothing like 12v boat winches.

    Building a set a BBF Linear actuators at present , will finally have my joyrider back up and running with them installed.
