Good idea, just remember that each persons sim and profile may not match yours, but always good to have a look at another profile as you can fiddle with it yourself to suit your setup.

Excellent idea, will create some new forums tommorow. Maybe its useful to have sections for different type of simulators.

good idea, but it can be done with adding a few parameters
would come to math, like actuator speed, distance an actuator arm travel,
how many of dof and ...
some more experienced member could make decision and standard
    these parameters

Sharing is as simple as copy/paste a single file
plus it's a readable text file!
    SimTools is great!!

@bsft: yes, I used Xsim just like many of us... until I beta-test SimTools
since that moment, I prefer SimTools!
    - silent background running,
    - light install (less than 4 Mo versus 80Mo),
    - simplier,
    - no crashes,
    ...

same for me I made several simtools profiles quite easily from scratch where as before i could not with x-sim. x-sim is also a great software but a bit too complex in certain aspects.

    let s share profiles

It's hard to share profiles when there are so many different motor types, their positions, mounts, controllers etc..

And of course there is no guarantee that you will like someone else's setup, you could find it harsh or very smooth or something other and eventually you will end up making your own profile.

there is always some of us thatt wont be able to create their own profile . it was my case few years ago with x-sim. so already made profile might help some

however simtools is so easy to use the learning curve is fast and easy . it is also possible that i learned the hard way with x-sim that simtools looks (to me) like a breeze.

so at the end of the day , profiles could be shared at request between members, i guess !
