I was set on purchasing the MotionHouse WindGenerator sim racing wind kit:
    https://en-motionhouse.imweb.me/23/?idx=124
(w/out centre bracket, w/ air duct)

At around $800 to $900 CAD after shipping, tax, etc., I'd rather try making my own. I'll be using 2 of the 4" Seaflo in-line blower / bilge style fans (rated 12 V, 270 CFM).

I'm trying to find exactly what I need.

From all the research I could find, it sounds like I have to purchase the following:
I thought that's all I needed but, upon further research, I see some people mentioning all sorts of other things you need to purchase, for example:
    • PWM motor driver (e.g., IBT-2, Cytron MD10C)
    • fuses
    • shunts
    • mosfets
    • relays
    • heatsinks
I'm really confused now. Do I have to get those things?

    More questions:

I asked ChatGPT. I know, it makes many mistakes but figured I'd still ask, and it said I also need the following:

    Wires:
    • 14 AWG silicone or copper wire (red for +12V, black for ground)
    Connectors:
    • XT60, XT90, or Anderson Powerpole (to disconnect easily)
    • crimp terminals or solder
    Fused connection:
    • (in-line fuse or fuse block, 15–20A total)

Do I need to buy any of those?

    Further Hardware Questions:
    1. Any other parts I need that I missed above?
    2. Do I need a fan pointing at the boards (Arduino Uno and MotoMonster)
    3. Do I have to make sure the PSU is / is not a "switching" power supply?
    4. Does the power supply have to have a specific style plug at the end?
    5. Do I have to cut the PSU's plug off in order to separate the "+" and "-" in order to separately connect each one to the Arduino board?

For now, I'll leave software/firmware questions out and just focus on hardware.

P.S. Does any one know any other company or person who sells a ready to go kit with in-line blower / bilge style fans? I see a million wind kits for sale from sim racing companies on Ebay, AliExpress, and Etsy but I cannot find any - not 1, single one - that uses blower/bilge fans besides MotionHouse.

I don't know why the links aren't showing, I'll try again since I can't edit my post after 1 minute.

There are way more examples if you use the Forum Search function, but do check out the FAQs as a good starting point to follow in and benefit from the footsteps of other: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/fans-wind-simulation.67/

There has been no genuine MMs for many many years and members have repeatedly reported issues with cheap clones: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/monster-moto-testing-before-use.158/

For most existing code and control boards stick with a genuine Uno 3, rather than clone, even though some clones are perfectly fine others require additional drivers.

Thanks, I've been reading and doing lots of research and have read a lot of those threads & pages you linked to but I can't find a clear, simplified breakdown of every single thing I need. The information is scattered across so many different posts, threads, and pages and lots of times it seems conflicting and/or just confusing.

The 3 different Arduino Unos I linked to are directly from what appears to be the official Arduino "store" on Amazon Canada. Amazon links seem to be broken on this site, they never show up in my posts even though non-Amazon links show up just fine.

What do I do/buy since I most likely won't be able to find a genuine MotoMonster?

That link provides product information, but in terms of your ultimate hardware decision the views and experiences of other members are likely informative/helpful.
