I see a bunch of videos with motion platforms using wiper motors but I cant find weight limits. I weight 250lbs and my platform is probably 75lbs with everything So about 325lbs. Will wiper motors be strong enough to move this much weight? I've been following D Max's seat mover project but he hasn't come out with the next video yet showing him actually using it. I'm not modifying my static rig. I'm trying to build a 2DOF motion platform. I found some information stating a wiper motor can pull about 50lbs but i'm not sure how that would translate to motion since I've seen videos of people using them and they are definitely moving more than 50lbs. I'm very new to all this, I've been reading a bunch of information about worm gear motors but specs on specific vehicle wiper motors are hard to find. All I can find is general wiper motor specs. If anyone could give me some input on this it would be much appreciated.

I weigh 200 pounds, and the tests I have done with those same engines have been good, obviously it lacks punch, but I have not finished my project yet and I have a lot to learn, and above all it is the cheapest I have found. Greetings, now I am testing to mount them with the built-in sensor, they are used by automatic doors. I will comment

I'm using the wiper cleaners, for me it's enough and it works very well, what you should take into account is how you install them. If you assemble it correctly, don't have a problem with the wiper motors

A few days ago, I read on the forum about a project made with a wiper motor. I tried but couldn't find it anywhere because I haven't saved it yet. Can you guys help me find that post again? Thanks very much.

There are lots of wiper motor related threads, do you perhaps mean @Halloween2go's handy video guide on how to build a a 2DOF with wiper motors, Arduino, IBT2 and SMC3.

That article gives very detailed instructions (with video and pictures), installing a motor that causes vibration in the seat, how to wire it, because the wiper motor has a different number of output wires than the brushless motor. I want to re-read and refer to that article, but can't find it again.

If the assembly is going to have significant weight, try looking for old 4x4 wipers that will run at 24v, perhaps at 12v they are underpowered. In my project I use two 24v 250w and 75 rpm motors and they have a lot of power (they are not for windshield wipers).
