Since the shaft has no outlet on the other side for hall sensor, I had to extend the shaft and install an oil seal instead of a plug

congrats! you have a working simulator :) you can be proud!

now, you will have to tweak the setups to make it moves maybe a bit more.

Yes, definitely, this is just a test drive, I didn’t play too much with the settings. And I'm probably going to make the whole platform move, not just the seat

let's see first how hard you can shake the seat under load, before upgrading to whole platform ;)

Hi Ivan, Good day to you. I used the same approach mounting the hall sensor in a piece of circuit board and the magnets inside a plastic tube clamped at the end shaft of the drive. I noticed you placed a small ceramic filter capacitor..is that across the 5 volt supply line? what value did you use. What magnet did you use? what number of ratiometric hall sensor did you use? Nice project...like it. Cheers!

No, it's between the Ground and Analog input. The capacitor label is 104 (100nF). Neodymium magnet 8x3mm. Hall sensor is 49E Series. Thanks:)

Thank you Ivan, Did you mean analog OUTPUT? Will adopt the circuit to filter out noises. Nice project. Hope I can find time to document my set up as well. Cheers.

Yes output, just leave 5v, and conect capacitor to other two pins on hall sensor. And I noticed that I had to put the magnets closer to the sensor

Thanks for the tip re moving magnets closer to Hall sensor. One thing nice about using hall is you do not worry in case of runaway motor as there is no built in stop, unlike pots. Have you measured the rotation speed of the output shaft under load? How many rpms? Thanks (salamat in Phils.).

I did not measure. On the motor label output shaft is 118rpm on 22.5v, i use it on 18.5.
By turning this white plastic I adjust the position of the lever. When i turn a few degrees nothing happens, now that i have moved the magnets as close as i could, the lever moves as soon as i turn the white plastic with the sensor - I lost that dead zone by moving the magnets.

I have the same exact experience..if you turn the magnet beyond the sweet spot, nothing happens. as it makes sensing, the motor starts tracking again..it works but needs some fine adjustment..then you are ok and safe as nothing could break in the sensor side. I like hall over pot. My sim is a full frame and in addition to the two actuator motors (worm gear, 12 volts, 1:50 ratio, motor RPM 2400 to 32oo...under load more like 1750 rpm, thereabout) But I had the car seat mounted on a universal joint from the steering wheel and connected it to w wiper motor actuator. The drive is taken off the g27 motor line...voltage driving the motors is tapped and dropped/reduced thru a 10K resistor and used to drive a back to back optocoupler which in turn drives a relay to reverse the current driving the wiper motor in response to the turn/direction of the steering wheel...you can imagine the full frame moving in response to the game signal and the seat swaying opposite the direction you are turning the steering wheel..nice. Try it...so you have , in effect 3 dof ! Cheers.

NOTE of Caution when tapping the G27 motor wires/connections...Make sure the unit if OFF and make sure there are no shorts in your wiring, ABSOLUTELY..a short will kill your G27 Mosfetts instantly/quickly and you r g27 is a gonner. so do this surgery methodically and carefully. a short after the dropping 10k resistor is not fatal. But anything before it is a killer. Do this mod at your own risk.

A very interesting solution. Can your project be seen somewhere (link)
