EDIT: This simulator is now available to purchase at mantis-simulators.co.uk

While my 6 DOF design is ongoing/on hold, I've decided to make a 2 DOF sim as I have most of the parts lying about.

    Main bits used:

    RCC-MK8 2S seat
    24v 42A PSU
    2x 24V 440W 1:60 worm drive motors
    2x IBT-2 43A H-bridge
    Ard Uno R3
    2x 360 hall sensor
    Fuse box
2x 12v fans for control box cooling
DC to DC buck convertor (24V to 12V)
Stud and MDF board for frame
UV joint (from a Land Rover)

So far I have made the top frame and incorporated a wind sim and transducer from a previous build.

    Control box

    20210415_163154.jpg

    3D printed misalignment spacers

    Pot gears and mounting bracket

All I can do for now while waiting for motors to arrive.

    Ciao,
Interesting job, where did you find the seat? I printed it (it's not like yours) by myself because I couldn't find one.
I am very interested in owning one.
    Thank you.

Lol, did you make the wheel console movable just to get into the seat?

Very nice! I really like this kind of project which goes to the essential with inexpensive materials. I thought that the wooden structure would not be very rigid, but watching the video I am reassured.

Do you know the weight of the complete mobile structure? Did you use glue for the assembling?

All held together with 70mm screws. Not sure of the weight, bit it is pretty heavy! Going to swap out the top wooden frame for aluminium profile as soon as I can as I think it will be even more responsive and less strain on the motors
