Question Sabertooth 2x60 clamp resistor

Hi, does anyone of you guys use the Sabertooth 2x60 without batteries running 24VDC wheelchair motors? Maybe on clamp resistors ?

follow the dimension engineering requirements... they state u have to have batteries.
35 Amp hour minimum.

Use of our motor drivers with cheap AC adapters is not recommended.
Use a battery or at least put a battery in parallel with a DC supply.

my understanding is for batteries to absorb the regen current.
if not the motors will take it and heat up fast..

thanks Hannibal. I was also in contact with Sabertooth Support and they said the same... I was just looking for a smaller setup without batteries but it seems that no one tried it with clamp resistors... I will be the first ... hopefully I don’t blow it up

maybe go with the sabertooth 2x32 instead, i know i wasnt keen to buy 6 stroller cart batteries

But what type of rig do you want to build? Will the 2x32 be suitable.

with 24vdc each motor should draw 7 amps max because the new joint will carry a lot of the payload... so 2x30 should be fine, too

I remember now, a balanced rig. Yes 2x32 should be fine.
