@wannabeaflyer2 I bought four sheets of 1-1/4" 24x50 and three sheets of 1/2" 23×58 for 250.00. That was a steal as a full 4x8 sheet of the former here is 1400.00 and a sheet of the latter is 200.00

    His asking price was 380.00

    My search was HDPE Sheet

I have set up profiles for DCS, iRacing and Assetto Corsa. They work great. Driving games need serious filter tweaking for traction loss. For me, traction loss is NOT about trying replicate sway, I have a motor and linear rails taking care of that for me. I want actual traction loss, when the rear wheels come loose and the rear end kicks out. To get this I had to tweak the filters to ignore most inputs but react to fast large yaw accelerations. Hard to explain but one of these days I will post a screenshot of my filter setup. Probably the wrong way to do it but it is what I found to work for me.

My aluminum profile arrived yesterday, very fast shipping and a really good price. 250mm is 40.00 each but I went with 350mm for 60 each. Shipping was 24.00
    20210409_140819.jpg

One little...tiny...problem with the profile though, and it will be a deal breaker for most, the four mounting holes are not holes....they are only 2/3 of a hole....but they are 10.5 mm so the right size for tapping.

    20210409_141123.jpg

I knew this when I ordered them as I have a method of tapping the 2/3 hole anyway.i cut a 1/2" thick piece of aluminum plate to fit the bore. This allowed me to tap the holes.

I am going to silver braze the m8 sleeves in just to be sure though.

I could have had them tap the holes for me for a charge, and anyone that wants to use this brand probably should.

I am going to create custom CAD files for the profile this weekend

HUGE thanks to @BondeX and his nephew for being my test du....er...drivers :)

The squeaking that you hear is the four wooden blocks rolling around over the bolt heads! HAHHAA...yeah...a bit dangerous.....

EDIT: The motor drivers are detuned for a max RPM of 1500 for testing.

Thanks for letting us try the simulator @Historiker, it was totally worth the trip and the motion felt absolutely amazing.

A little progress today, still far away from finishing the SFX100+100 actuators....China far away :( My ballscrews, linear hollow slides and couplers have not yet shipped.

I designed and cut top, bottom and slider parts. I only cut one set so I could test the fit. The only glaring issue is that I did not make the hole in the bottom one long enough to have the bearing fit toward the top, not the bottom. I redesigned it and will cut another one tomorrow. Overall the HDPE is an excellent medium to work with. Much better than that old batty fortune teller.

I also tapped the M8/M12 sleeves into place. No need for the spacer, they drove in very nicely with a bolt/nut combination. I can highly recommend these profiles to everyone now.

One nearly complete linear actuator. Wanted to assemble one to make sure the top and bottom are correct; they are :)

I threaded 3/4 of the thread length in the HDPE and am letting the unthreaded section act as a lock.

I did get notification that my parts have been shipped from China....now I am waiting for them to "actually" ship. They are coming UPS so once the company actually ships them I will have a good idea of when they will arrive. They said June 15th.....so...yeah.

That date may be purposely pessimistic, my last recent order from China (ballscrews) arrived weeks before their estimate. So you may be surprised like I was.

I agree. I think that once UPS picks them up it will be no more than two weeks.

More parts arrived today, but there are issues.

    IMG_20210419_102529956_HDR.jpg

As you can see, the linear hollow rods are not square. Not as frustrating as it would otherwise be, I ordered them 400mm so I could cut them down to 370 for 350mm aluminum profile. I just had to cut and mill both ends
