Its blocking some noise from the actuators and you can hear more details e.g. wind, motor....
In my opinion a great benefit

Interesting, I have the Valve Index, I have decent audio headphones and tried them yesterday with VR, I was surprised how good the Index headphones are, I'm guessing this might fit.

    Hi @PeterW
Can you please share the amazon link for the earpads you used. I cannot find anything with those dims, the closest would be a 70mm round earpad that I would have to stretch/distort to fit the oval.
I have printed your .stl, thank you for your generosity in sharing that.
    Cheers, Zip

    Hi Zip
There was a link in the thread, but it seems that if you maybe have an adblocker you will not be able to see it? I renewed it in the thread, but here is the amazon - number B088K8Y9RD

Have fitted to my Reverb G2, they work really well. This is comfortable and does block out the 10 kHz whine quite a bit.
Many thanks to @PeterW for sharing this design.

This is fantastic thanks! Just got these printed and they work great, the only issue I find is that the right pad adheres perfectly, the left is quite tilted. I think this is because the slt is only for the right earpiece, I printed 2 and while it fits the left it’s tilted wrong! I cut it to reverse it and in fact it fits fine - any chance you might update the slt? Thanks!

I have just purchased a 3d printer, printed these for my index, used the spare Grado ear muffs ( the mid size ones) definitely a little more low end, originally used the larger pads which were better all round I think but I think would get very warm after a short while.
I printed mine with a raft and have not removed it.
Thanks for the share, great design.
