Hey mate, that button box i purchased of a guy named @Bajer on Thanos's Discord server. I'm guessing the guy i just tagged here may be the same person, we'll soon find out haha. But he sells it in either kit form or built. It's a nice bit of kit and complements the AMC-aasd15a controller nicely and my rig too of course :). I would of made my own but i'm too busy doing other more important things like DD wheels haha.

Looks like Thanos has got you covered already though for the DIY side of things.
It's a step up from what i had... i mean it was fully functional but was just a bit industrial for my liking lol.

Yeah that looks a bit industrial indeed....i guess it works. ....i just had the idea you owned the one with the 3 LEDs in it....

well i guess i figured it out with the wiring diagram of Thanos...i need to get a bit of time to get me going, but i want to make a new Design of the Emergency Box, using 5mm leds....got a lot of them laying around and easier without the mosfets.

i will keep you posted... Thanx ;)

I tackled this wheel project to save money and purchase some Fanatec V3 Pedals. So probably wont be doing pedals for quite some time. I want to tackle a belt tensioner first :) Then maybe i'll look into pedals.
I want to get a CNC machine as well so maybe it will be a good project for when i'm testing that out..

God i don't know How i'm going to hide all this stuff from the misses while trying to pay for the wedding. Sorry honey we need a smaller cake... to make room for my cnc machine lol. She saw the title of my video that said $450 wheel and was like whaaat!?! was it that much?! What she didn't know is that was USD and its more like closer to double that in our money hahaha. So now i refrain from mentioning cost in video titles .

Hi Peacemaker. Fellow WA person myself and have been following your progress with interest. Nice job on all by the way.

Am adopting your actuator design and note that you mentioned that you wouldn't have gone again with the cheaper chinese ballscrews. Have you considered what you would have gone with instead as an alternative? There's a huge price differential between ballscrews. Hard to tell how to pick a good one other than country of manufacture and price. So seeing if you or anyone else in the community have got a suggestion for a reasonable but not over the top pricewise ballscrew suggestion?

    Thx Steve

Hey Mate! Welcome to the darkside! Where your wallet stays forever empty that is haha. Nah it's an awesome scene to be a part of :)
Look to be honest i'll probably just go cheap chinese rolled ballscrews again. The cost of expensive ground ones are just way to hard to justify if you ask me.. and for a noise benefit we haven't had proven yet. My main issue i think was i ordered mine through 3 different ebay sellers so probably from all different factories. Next time i'll probably just make sure i order all 6 from the same seller, maybe one that's got some decent reviews etc. That way if 1 ballscrew seems sloppy or a bit off you can tell them that 1 is not right and that the other 5 are fine and they can't sit there and tell you thats how its suppose to be because you have 5 others to prove otherwise haha.

I would like to try incorporate some sound deadening or something in the actuator build instead. But i have no issues with the noise. once game volumes up you don't (barely) hear it.

    Hi Peacemaker105
Thanks a lot for your ideas ;)

i modified the slider a bit so i can insert the carbon rod directly.
the upper ring has a hole of 25,5mm so there is enough space for the glue ;)

    it looks like this:
    3d Slider.jpg Slider-tower2.jpg Slider-tower1.jpg

    Here it is: slider-tower.zip

    Kind regards

Wow! I have been hesitant to start a 6dof build on my own and started to research non-diy solutions out there, like DOFReality. Still way too much money at $6000, but seeing your build completely changed my mine! I would probably say I would use this 50% flying, 50% racing, and wanted to know if your 500mm rods are sufficient for this. I don't want this too big, and I'm afraid changing parts and length will require redesigning on my end which I'm not capable of. I also saw in your videos, which are great by the way, that you had to lathe some parts. Are there parts that are to that spec available online? I would rather pay the extra $$ than buy a lathe :)

    Your input is greatly appreciated!

Sorry mate, thought i replied to this the other day.. must of had too many beers and not pressed send or something haha.
Definitely go 600mm if you do more flying. 1610 for the extra speed would be nice, you can always dial speed down a bit. as for dimensions don't be too worried, just scale it up 10% or so, she'll be fine :)

I lathed my motor coupler because i could and saved me ordering all new ones.. and they're not cheap. You can just contact the supplier and ask for the correct sizes made no problem. And the rod to ballscrew joiner i lathed because thats how i did it back in the day but as posted above there is a 3d printable option for that which incorporated the slider into the design.. so no need to lathe anything :)

Like a lot of you on here, I'm most impressed with Peacemaker105's build.

So, after speaking with him and confirming some dimensions, I've drawn up some frame plans for those of us wishing to duplicate or modify his design.

The files have been viewed by Peacemaker105 and met his approval.

Hey mate, i know i've already told you but just in case anyone wants a link..
80st or 90st will work, just different shaft dimension and therefore coupler requirements.

So if you go to 600mm screws then the carbon tubes will have to go to 600mm as well correct? I was looking and didn’t see 600mm avail on AliExpress. Is there another option for this?

side question how many amp is you rig pulling. I’m re wiring my basement and will be pulling a 220v circuit down for my sim when I get to building it.

Those are some nice looking lightsabers. :) super cool color. Too bad the cover tubes weren’t clear to see the colors and movements. Thanks for the links. I am trying to figure out what I can afford now and how much space I need! Did you use 640mm screws then? Wow option overload on the link. Do you have more specifics that you ordered. What was the rough cost on what you got?

@eloverphx, thanks. I am contemplating polycarbonate cover tubes...

Here is a screenshot of the order.
I used 600mm ballscrews, I could have gone 640mm ballscrews and still used 600mm PVC and aluminium tubes as there is 100mm clearance between the top of the ballscrew and the top of the aluminium tube (the threaded inserts I used are 35mm, so that gives me 65mm of room for longer ballscrews).

I'll start a thread soon, when the build is complete.

For these long ballscrews, don't forget about the effect of the chosen pitch and available motor torque. I use 2005 800mm ballscrews and the motor speed can sometimes max out on long runs.

Hi @SeatTime , could you elaborate on this for me?

    I'm using 1610 600mm, motor torque is 2.4Nm
