    Hello all,
    I'm very excited to build my own FFB Steering Wheel, but unfortunately I'm not a programmer or electronics engineer. Instead, I work as a car mechanic.
    I am in possession of an Alfa Romeo power steering. it has everything (engine, gears etc.), I just need to buy an encoder and arduino. My problem is that the motor is 3 phase, I have already searched the entire internet and found no way to connect it. is there anyone here to help me? I present some illustrative photos.
    Additional elements are:
    - Arduino Leonardo
    - Encoder
    - H bridge?

    I guess I know the solution. there is a capacitor on this circuit. I need to run two of these phases through this capacitor? Do I understand it correctly

    Stepper motors are not suitable for a ffb wheel

    They are activated by pulses, you need a dc motor or a servo motor

    Indeed, steppers aren't used in most of the DD systems, but people already used them, in various degrees of success, and Gigawipf on YouTube keeps track of his dev. steps on the new OpenFFBoard project.
