Diy FFB Steering wheel advices

    Hi guys this is my first post here, i have made a diy arduino leonardo ffb steering wheel based on EMC firmware.

    I am using 12v car wiper motor with ripped off gearbox and a set of GT2 pulleys and belt (1:2 ratio i know it is too high), i got an idea of decreasing the ratio to maybe 1:16 (low rpm) and get another motor with 1:6 ratio to compensate for low rpm of another motor.
    will this be a sufficient system or should i get a one big motor instead.

    I also came across water purifier pump motor (24v) some sites say it is 0.5kw and others say 0.02kw and it is the same price as the 60w wiper motor, does anyone know its specs here? do you recommend me a cheap motor with high torque and more than 1000rpm?

    Hi, firstly gt2 very weak belts they will slip and then break, use htd3m.
    Secondly, select the gear ratio so that the steering wheel speed is 250-350rpm
    the best and cheapest electric scooter (my1016,my1020,my1025,my6812) motors 100-250 watts, I use my6812 and gear ratio 1:9 and I am very happy with the power and speed it gives

    Do you have photos or video of your project? I have a windshield wiper motor and they are strong but I don't know if enough to do that project, you would have to put a video to see your fans

    now I can't take a photo at night and everyone is asleep)) I used motors 555,775,895 and the wiper motor, they all get very hot at about 80-100 degrees, there is a strong smell, the fans do not help,
    the wiper motor is not good enough for these purposes, there is little power and overheating look for my6812 it costs $ 20 new 3000 rpm 12 or 24 Volts, if you take 24 V and give 12 power, you will get the same power, but 1500 rpm,
    another good option is my1025 250w and 36 volts, you give 12 volts and get 800-1000 rpm, so much power that you can break your hands by 100%
    understand motors from electric vehicles have a very high torque, do not repeat my mistakes with the wiper motor, it will burn out in 2-3 hours, it can be put on, but the gear ratio should be 1: 15-1: 25 no less, I had a thrust master steering wheel there was a 540 engine and a gear ratio of 1:36 while it gave out only 1.5Nm
    my6812 at revision 1:10 gives 5N.m, for example, the logitech g27 wheel gives 2N.m

    very good information about this project. I love the photos I am going to take into account the type of engines that I would have to get for this steering wheel. I would need to try to get which electronic plates are the ones that it takes. I am going to take into account to try to carry out this project.

    This is very neat bro!!!

    I am thinking now about my1016 with something like 1:9 or 1:16 gear ratio in addition with the wiper motor at 1:6 maybe (high torque and high rpm).

    In your opinion should I use v pulley and belt or should I stick to teethed pulleys and belts and one more question is chain system good for motion and power delivery and just noisy or belt system is better?

    only belt drive,
    the chain and gears are very noisy and you will feel the teeth on your hands especially when hitting and moving quickly
    I used pulleys and belts from an electric planer and a makita sander, the Chinese copy they are cheap and are always available in basically all power tools, (I buy kit small and big pulleys with belt for 9$) the gear ratio is 1: 3, so I used a double gear, that is, 2 small pulleys and two large ones, it turned out 1: 3 * 1: 3 = 1: 9
    I'm new to this community this is my 3rd post here I promise to tell you about my project in detail later, thanks for your interest
