I got some 24 wheelchair motors at 200w 3700 reduced to 116 RPM on its default gearbox. I'd like to convert and use a linear balls crew guide. Im unsure of the accuracy it will have given that it moves a about 2mm each cog when i turn it. Perhaps a new planetary gearbox 30:1 would be better? What im really after is no backlash or at least as little as possible. Its rather large on these worm gears and as a seat/backrest sway its just to much as i wish to feel all the detail. It dont really need that much torque to move just my body from side to side.

Its a bit tricky on the shaft but i can make something work if i can find the correct dimensions. Or i can 3d print a bracket. The coupling it has now is actually just rubber and the shaft is protruding 5mm. A pin should be able to sort this out anyhow.

    What do you think?

Give it a try on one actuator and see if it works

How many motors do you have

I got 4 of them. Shipping is a bit expensive for the parts though so id do all 4 if i commit to it. At the worst id have 4 slider tables which im sure i can use at a later point anyway

    Hi
With one of those sliders and youre motor directly directed to screw, you will get
1204 screw 70kgf and 24,5 mm/sec at rated motor power
    With a 1605 screw 55kgf and 300mm/sec
    1610 screw 28kgf and 600mm/sec
    hope this helps

Check the link on the bottom of the org post.

Thanks. Good info :) That should be more than enough for the back slider and probably fine for the seat. Will be a 100mm system so 50 each way. The seat wont be resting on the slider table but additional sliders which further helps.
