DIY Direct Drive With Closed Loop Stepper Motor

    Hi Guys,

    I'm interested in an DIY DD wheel with an Closed loop Stepper Motor.

    I saw a lot of treads (e.q. the one from rufusdufus) and they all seem going the right way. But never there is a good step by step tutorial how to.

    Does anyone of you guys build this, or knows a good tut for this?
    Due to the wallet I'm not going the Servo route. I know it is better etc... But first I want to try the Stepper route.

    While the price on some closed loop steppers is attractive, they are not designed to be used for variable speed motion. They are going to have large vibrations when they step to positions and are too noisy. See some experiments I did with them:

    @Thanos, thanks for your reply.
    From what I have saw there is a lot to fiddle with to get these 1,8° steps out with "micro-steps".
    But do you have a step by step tutorial to setup this stepper motor?

    No, sorry I don't. Its better to leave these stepper motors for use on 3D printers or CNC machines, where they belong...

    There is a guy who is making a board to drive these type of motors in car simulation:

    and i heard in the "boosted media" video of the simagic m10, he uses a stepper motor, so, somehow is possible to get it.
