    Hi there chaps

Ive drawn some inspiration from Seat-time and decided after some "inertia mode" testing with my 2 flaps (coined by BlazingH) that i wanted to try the moving sway system. Thing is though, i can get the flaps to move up with a roller system im going to do but im at a bit of a loss as to how im going to get surge in here. I need to move both flaps with 1 motor. My plan sort of was to have levers on the inside and use bowdens/rope attatched to the moving frame but i needed to go with the center plank design due to space.

FIY its currently on 2 2020 profiles with PLA and grease while waiting for linear rails. Also need a lesser spring to load the worm gear. If you do this, go with a direct and ball nut for best results. Aint bad though.

Any suggestions and ideas are most welcome.

can you not use the other motors to tip the seat back and forth to simulate surge ?

Thanks but It would be like a seat mover and it just don't feel right. You need the flap pressure. I would say to anyone who hasn't tried it it's the single most impactful thing you can have in your sim.

I dont have the option to move the whole flap/sway system on its own and have it be parasitic as Seat-time calls it. Though with the rollers it will be somewhat like that. May need to use elastic bands somewhere so it mixes with the surge

I got a 2 dof on the rig too but I barely use surge in pitch.

Is more finding how to link it all up so they move. I may need to use 1 for the sway and 2 for the flaps like a normal seat but I really want to avoid it

then you will need a motor for each flap

Seatime used powerful RC servos with some success

Cheers for taking the time to look at it. I got a bit more detailed pic from Seat-time in his build post that helped me out. Just going to make a moving top bar on a linear rail that pushes 2 wheels in and out, its also sloped for sway.

I see i need quite a bit of torque compared to my normal flaps here. a lot of it is in the plastic vs 2020 profile and some is weight. Gonna stick another motor in unison there
