I had a bad thought seeing how my glued veneer flexes and this is glued saw dust, so I think it will most likely brake on impact... I hope not but be aware of possibility :nerd

If there is flex then it will be negatively impacting on the quality of the motion cues.

do both of you mean the motorbrackets or the u-joint mount?
    both are 3mm thick steel.
seemed ok with 12v motors before...

i will take a look on them and maybe searching for another solution...

    thanks!

Noorbeast was about brackets and I am talking about material, Im not sure how long it withstand push/pull without cracking, I know for you it's seat mover so there is less stress, but monitor condition of platform. - cracks
There is usually lots of flex with wood/plywood e.t.c Wood makes noise before cracking but yours might just crack since motors are strong.

    @noorbeast @Rifly
i already thought about changing materials in the future to aluminium profiles like this:

(found it on the internet. source:

i have no experience with aluminium profiles, but many people using it to build racing rigs...

    but also a flexible material...
is it a better option for the forces of a motionsim?

    hello

you should reinforce all your brackets and supports, because it will twist when it moves, I have 5 mm steel brackets and I doubled them ...

To be honest those profiles are stiff :) I - myself - will go with steel welds since its cheaper for me, I've made couple versions of what I have now (wood) and learned a lot so Im sure it will be same with you too, plus looking at your work I can see that you like precision so Im sure you will make perfect rig for yourself :cheers

of course you guys were right and there is to much flex in the build...
    uncomfortable and unprecise to drive.

i will change the frame again!
ordered 40/40 aluminium item profiles now to build a rig and plan to mount the motors on brackets like this
    : 2A6AC234-D565-4EFD-9515-129FABC70BFD.jpeg
( found on this forum. build by @Santrovitsch )

will 5mm aluminium do the job here?
    or should i use steel?

while i disambled everything i also considered to set the motor position under my knees like f.e. dofreality does.
is there any advantage doing this?

    greets

Glad to hear you are making progress, and at the same time a bit sad that our predictions about flex came true. Stiff motor mounts and joints without flex are fine. But now even with all that mentioned, My rig jumps :D so I had to add some weight to prevent it :D
