    A question about potentiometers

    What I wanted to ask instead is this:

    Gigi, another thing to consider is what happens if your sim moves outside the range the Hall sensor can accept. On my sim, I have a “running” range of movement but also an additional range when it parks. You can always block your sim to keep it from going outside the running range, but when a Hall sensor goes outside of the angular range it can handle, it’s no longer proportional to position and your controller may even interpret the electrical signal as a sensor disconnect. My JRKs do this with my Hall sensors. To be able to soft start my sim the Hall sensors have to have valid outputs through the whole range of both park and run.

    Are you seeing/feeling cogging or stepping in your motor movements now? I’m using 180 degree Hall sensors with some of that lost to parking the sim and not seeing any issues but that’s my sim.

    A 120 or 180 Hall sensor will give better resolution.

    Hi Zed and CZgui,
    Thank you first of all for your intervention. I have already purchased the bourns 6127 hall sensors with 120 ° range. in the next few days I should receive the supports to fix them to the engines and I can then test them. The range of my levers will be around 80/90 ° so considering the pots with range 120 ° I should have a safety margin of 40/30 °. I don't think there will be any problems. I will verify it and keep you updated
