    After seeing a multitude of projects, I decided to make a version of one that seemed the most appropriate, for now it is only a sketch.
    My first step will be the installation of the electronics and its configuration, if I pass that step I will start the construction of the simulator.

    Hey Israel, looks good! A mention about the potentiometer, though. Those work great initially but tend to wear out and get intermittent. When that happens, if your code can’t recognize it and just deenergize the motors (the Arduino motor control guys would know), they can run away. Worst case is you just rock back and forth as the output arm just spins, but if the output arms can hit anything, there can be problems.

    Hall sensors last much longer and are available in packages that are physically just like potentiometers. Those still are critical on alignment and shafts can bind and seize. Alignment either way is important and some kind of flex coupling can really help. There are also two-piece hall sensors with separate magnets and sensors. Nothing to wear out and they can theoretically last forever.

    Quite a few builders here have used them and details are in the various build threads. The ones I used are these: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/785-RTP180LVEAA but they are more industrial and take their mating connectors too. What sold me on these were totally non-contact and magnets that attach with setscrews but that’s no hill if you have a 3D printer.

    Hall sensors can connect up just like pots too. +5V, Gnd, and the equivalent of a wiper.

    That link is to Hall sensors that might be suitable on Mouser. Another distributor is DigiKey and they might have other selections. I went with a 180 degree angle measurement range for mine. About $40 each though you can just buy the sensors and supply your own magnet and such for prices down to $10. That’s why I say to check other builds here. People here tend to favor the form factor like a potentiometer over the separate magnet style. One good reason for that is everything is prealigned. With a separate magnet, that’s on you including proper magnet orientation (it matters). The Honeywell magnets have arrows on them to help but it is more involved of a setup.

    You do need to get hall sensors with the right voltage range for your motor controllers. The Arduino uses 5V max on the analog input range so I specified 5V for these.

    You can also just start with pots but beware if they ever go intermittent. You need to know in advance your controller can detect an open circuit and respond appropriately. I think that code is in there but don’t know for certain.
