    My view is that YawVR is novel and compact, but very basic and entry level with respect to actual motion simulation, as you can't even simulate things like heave, as you would on a basic 2DOF design, and outside of flight, and in particular helicopters, the value of yaw is somewhat limited, with yaw also being a poor substitute for things like traction loss.

    The yaw seems to have a nice bit of travel on the axes. It can throw you around more than you want. It's still early and they are working out some kinks. I'm close to it's max height & weight recommended limit, so I am having trouble using all the travel available. They seem to have or are close to having solutions to most of the current problems. I love the design for the cost I paid being an early backer. The team producing it are a great bunch of guys, and I am happy with my purchase.

    I would love to understand how a basic 2DOF design is going to simulate heave better than the 3DOF YawVR unless one of those 2 DOF is heave.

    A typical 2DOF simulator can only perform ‚roll‘ and ‚pitch‘ movements. However, by having the pivot under the seat, pitch can also be used for simulating road bumps, which means a sort of ‚heave‘.
    YawVR has the pivot much higher, which makes simulating ‚heave‘ more difficult, if not even impossible.

    Yaw VR is not using transducers. Vibration comes from the motors. Currently using Dash. It will accept the amplitude of each motor and then the same frequency for all 3. With the 120° omniwheel layout, I would think some sort of positional vibration could be achieved.

    I forgot to mention I think a virtual soundcard to convert the data would be a great way to use GameVibe.

    I'm a lucky owner of yaw since august. It has a huge range of motion and maybe the best part is its really compact, has the size of a medium armchair and if you wont use 360º yaw it doesn't occupies more than that. Its really silent and can be moved without effort just pushing it. Its made with home use in mind. This month it will be updated with vibration for current and future users of all versions

    How is the speed/lag for smaller textures like curbs? It's hard to tell from the videos - but I would imagine that the wheels could spin if changing small directions fast?

    For some games the yaw could be really fun! And a great selling point must be the design - I guess it will be somewhat easier to convince your wife to have one of those in the living room, compared to a more traditional rig! :-D
