    I'm getting a bit less nervous. All seems to be coming along nicely.
    But, I haven dare to sit on it yet. There is too much reinforcements to do still.
    All is resume at design, (panic), cut, glue, wait, design, (panic), cut...

    I don't think I'll have the time to finish and test it before I go teaching at 600 km from home. It might be a while before I (try to) play a game on that thing.

    I'm back, but not for long.
    Did you miss me? :)

    I sat on my carbon tubes platform. I made a movie of this maiden adventure in case the had to figure out how I die in my basement. Fortunately for my health, it holds out beautifully. Fortunately for your health, we almost don't see my but crack. Not a bend, not even a crack sound (pun intended), nothing. It looks and acts strong. I am pleased!

    Thanks @wannabeaflyer2. Coming from a designer like you, it's quite a compliment. It's been a long time since we saw your rig in action. Stop womanising and get to work!

    I did not cranked it to 255. Something about self preservation. I also kept the values to the "don't listen to others" level. It was a nice ride and no one got shaken or hurt.

    I can almost read the sub text: "There will be blood". A video was done and no maker was hurt in its making.

    The leap of faith. The moment you tell yourself: "Here goes nothing". Luckily, it turned out good. But you can see I am not doing any sudden move. Slow, terrified and steady.

    Here is my first ride. It's so smooth compare to my wooden platform. Changes in direction are so much easier for the whole rig. Setting up the controls should be our next step. Adding the keyboard, fixing the panic button, the Pimax. All of this the next time I return... God knows when.

    Seems to be holding up well :thumbs. I was not as trusting of that glue as you and put carbon pins (solid rods) in all my main joints, but that bracing looks to be doing its job. Cannot beat light weight (less inertia) for improved performance - no different for a real race car.

    The glue seams to be holding up, but I was not cheap with it. I put almost 2 big tubes into it.

    I have to correct my holding metal rods before I try big space simulator moves.

    HI @Pierre Lalancette made me laugh not so sure about the designer part , more Tinkerer LOL that likes to use the skills aquired over the years , and Def not playing with the women :) yeah i wish LOL had to give that up * they were more expensive than the sim LOL ...and well something had to go

    Not doing much this weekend on my rig. Just added reinforcement on the pedals stand.

    Then I updated Simtools and tried the new @pmvcda mover app, but it did not work. At first, it was pushing my 2 test actuators to the top limit switch. Then, I updated all linear size. Now, it just does move. Version 1.9 beta and both connections turn red. I tested the old hexapod version, and all is fine. Am I missing something?

    Did a little more. I went to see my friend in his machine shop. He help me to bend my holding rods.

    My rig should have wider range of move now that it is in the right angle at rest position.

    The new Simtools with the old hexapod gives strange results. The rid is unstable when the car is stopped. I will have to investigate more. Calibration, calibration, calibration...

    Hey Pierre, I've not had good luck using all-thread in similar side loaded applications. It tends to crack at a tread cut if there is much bending load.

    Are you sure they are strong enough?

    I do like the carbon tube structure, though!

    Somewhere between 13000 and 15000 Canadian Dollars. I lost track of it along the way and carbon fiber is extremely expensive.

    Sorry, I can't right now. I am back at my work town, 600 km away from my rig. If you haven't got a new version before I get back, I'll send it to you.

    No, I'm not sure they are strong enough. Did not sit on it. The grade of the rod is cheap. I learned that I had to go to a special place to get better grade. But, I installed them anyway, because I don't know when I'll be able to make other ones.

    @hannibal , I'm not sure if this answer your question from another thread, but this is how I attached my platform to the actuator.
    The threaded rod are inserted into a tube (a 12-10 mm if I remember well) and the tube is glued on its side to many plate that are themselves glued together.
    I put those tubes under the platform so the platform is pushing on them, and not pulling on them.

    i was refering to your work even before that.. not the top of the platform, rather the actuator themselves..

    your actuator rods ends insert look clean.. im just wondering if u had a method to apply epoxy..
