    Keep in mind that movement over 40 degrees up or down on a lever is inefficient with respect to torque utilization, particularly on a compact design rig.

    What kind of uni-joint (cardan) are you using?
    It has left-right rotation, where there should not be any..

    It seems that the platform has a bit of twisting, if you press the pins you can be too compact and get an erroneous performance

    Good work so far but ive got a few suggestions that may improve your sim. Firstly that universal joint looks like a well used pto shaft for farm machinery to connect to the tractor. Like prodigy said its very sloppy and is causing lateral movement where there should be none. may I suggest using the universal joint from the adjustable height steering column from an old car, the one in the pic is from a peugeot 206 its small and usually still tight as its duty in the car was very light as far as universal joints go.     Also as noorbeast mentioned any movement above 40 degrees is inefficient so I would recommend 2 things here. if you gear the pots so 90 degrees of motor rotation transfers to 360 degrees of pot travel ( mine are bourns 300 degree) to use the full 1024 points of resolution, 4:1 or there abouts (63 and 16 tooth gears). here is an pic of my old 2:1 wiper setup but shows you the idea.     then increase the length of the motor levers to obtain the amount of linear movement you require. this will work the motors harder and need more amps to drive the motors so I use separate power supplies for each motor now and good fan cooling on the motor drivers.
