Question Tie rod end vs heim joint

    I'm working on parts list and planning for a 2dof compact seat mover. I can see that i can use tie rod ends or heim joints to connect to ctc lever and chair end. What are pros and cons of each? Looks like tie rod ends are cheaper and easier to use.

    Either can work, I use Heim joints because the top mount construction required a female end. But tie rods, particularly sealed and those being capable of lubrication would be a bit more robust and hence quiter/smoother.

    Thanks for the response. Is there a good source online for steel mounting brackets and ctc levers for the motors? I'm likely going with the pgsaw 50:1 motors.

    Do most people fabricate the lever arms and L brackets for mounting the motors or buy them off shelf? I've looked and can find slotted steel bars and brackets from home improvment stores but them don't look thick enough. I haven't seen any threads yet that mention where to purchase

    Most make the motor mounts, they need to be very sturdy.
