There is no information yet Danny.

There are one or two videos on YouTube but that's all.

I guess DofReality have a unusual marketing campaign. 'Keep everybody in the dark, I'm sure people will just spend their money on a promise.'

I stand corrected SeatTime. I guess when you think about it you do still have to keep a level of balance but I guess its not quite like having to balance all the weight above a single point. More about having everything evenly balanced.

My 'sit on the seat and rock' probably won't work

The 6 dof upgrade is still under development and needs some weeks to be ready. But I am not in rush because I backed the feel vr wheel and pedals that will not be ready until November . So I am fine to wait as long as it needs to be wait to give time to dofreality to finalize their 6dof upgrade

Hi I would just like to say I have a 2dof reality rig and am enjoying it very much. The slack in the motors annoyed me to begin with but Ive done some balancing and added a little weight up front and it is much less noticeable.

I am defiantly interested in upgrading to the traction loss axis in the future if this is possible? and how much shipped to uk? many thanks.

Also do you do a buttkicker pole mount the bolts onto the rear where the seat sits?

I think you should ask them the cost of just the upgrade. I ordered a p3 with upgrade and the calculation included the shipping too

It's for a buttkicker gamer 2 transducer I would like to attach to my rig as at the moment I'm losing a lot of vibes that could be going to the seat

Lads, anyone with a dofreality rig got transducers? I bought 4 for chassis mode (each at every corner/where the wheels are located). Can anyone send a pic of there setup? I wanna know the ideal position to place them + wanna know how exactly to fix the transducer to the rig itself. With wood or just simply screwing the bass shakers directly to the rig/chair?

I don't have transducers but because of the DofReality design I'm sure mounting transducers would be pretty easy. There are lots of places you could mount the transducers.

I suspect however, you would want to mount the transducers on the moving frame and that may take a little more thought.

A length of box section mounted at right angles to the spine as far to the back as possible would allow you you mount two transducers towards the rear. Then box section mounted on the pedal plate would allow transducers towards the front.
I feel however that front mount may feel wrong and perhaps having the transducers mounted to the box section there the pushrods mount would be better because I suspect you would feel the vibration bette that way.

I could be wrong however, do you need (for want of a better word) free movement of the transducer so you only feel the vibration locally (if transducers were mounted on the pedal plate), or would it be better to feel the transducer vibration more through the whole frame (if transducers were mounted on the moving frame spine)? I predict it would be better to have the transducers hard mounted so the whole frame would feel the vibration. Lets face it, if you are driving your car and you go over rough road, you feel that throughout the whole car don't you?

Of course your other problem is going to be the increased weight on the rig. Mounting transducers may be a good thing since you will be able to use the transducers to balance your rig out, however because of all the extra weight, balance is going to be even more important.

Do let us know how you get on. I've sat and considered transducers myself however, getting any transducer here in Malaysia (in my case) is going to be an issue and buttkickers seeing to be very expensive to buy 4, I wonder if it would really be worth the expense. I'm sure it adds another level of immersion, but would it be a step too far?

What are the buttckikers that you would suggest to buy?

I'm thinking of mounting it here for the rear right and rear left, (where the circle is) however i have no idea how to mount it. Unless i attach it to the back of my chair, one left and one right, but that would feel weird and doesn't give the sensation of going over a right or left bump (pic of what i mean: http://www.alvarezeninternet.com/temp/mdfcockpit09.jpg)

And for the front, should i attach it somewhere in the purple circle (pedals) or somewhere on the green circle do you think is ideal..? and do i mount straight on the thing or do i mount it on some wood like some people have done before?

Would also like to know your thoughts @Radioproffi @noorbeast

For the rear transducer, yes something like that.

As for the front, that's what I was trying to say. Do you mount them in the purple zone or the green zone. I suspect the purple zone is a bit too flexible and you wouldn't get the whole feel of the vibration and it would probably feel a little dislocated (if you get what I mean).
In the green zone you would get the feel through the whole rig which (whilst I don't really know what Im talking about) which I think would feel more connected.

I agree with you that I think the transducer vibration should be in the same plane as what you would expect. I would think you want the vibration to be up and down, but again, maybe I'm wrong and the vibration doesn't really have a direction

Can anyone confirm if there is any play in the u-joint under the seat. I think mine is excessive. The pedal plate will move an inch side to side when pushed back and forth.

There is always going to be some play.

Try tightening up the long small silver nut and bolt that clamps the UJ sides together.

The play you are likely to find in the motor worm drives and not the UJ.

One throne thumper (back under seat)

2 Clark synthesis silver tactile transducers (under pedals and under front of seat)

1 Clark synthesis black tactile transducer (on wheel deck)

2 butt-kicker mini lfe (one on pedals one on wheel deck)

2 Dayton bass shakers pro (left and right on frame)

2 Dayton pucks (I move depending on what I'm using, ie.. shifter, throttle quadrant, helicopter collective, etc...

For those of you interested in purchasing the dof reality rig let me just tell you it is definitely worth every penny I spent. I have the P3 model with traction loss. I knew I would be adding extra weight to it so I decided on the upgraded Motors.

It arrives within two weeks of ordering it, which is pretty much across the world. The thing is super easy to assemble, and even came with all of the tools including real wrenches. The best part is it comes pre setup with detailed instructions for Sim tools and plug-ins for virtually every game I can think of except wreckfest. I've watched a lot of videos trying to teach you the stuff and to be honest I'm happy it was included and I didn't have to worry about it. This stuff is after all experimental and can be quite frustrating to figure out. The point of a motion simulator that you spend this much money on is to use it, not be fiddling with settings and never able to use it.

Before I go any further I will say the only other motion simulator I considered was the prosimu t1000. It is considerably more expensive especially if you plan to go 5 dof. The motor seems extremely noisy and the articulation seemed to be much less. for a brief second I consider the next level racing motion platform but it's just a seat mover and I'm not interested in that. The original motion platform I have always wanted was the simxperience Stage 5. I drooled over it for years. But in the end it's way too expensive and way too large and basically just a seat mover with traction loss. And their software can be really wonky because it is proprietary.

As for the rig itself it's very well made. You would think it's a commercially made item not some DIY project made in a basement.

And as for using it all I can say is it has changed my sim life! Every time someone comes over and I put them in X-Plane VR or project cars 2 with triple screens people literally say it's the coolest thing theyve ever seen. The level of immersion is unreal. The few games I play on occasion that are not supported by motion seem lifeless.

If you're seriously considering purchasing this, My only recommendation would be to save up a little more money and get the traction loss. It is just so worth it! Feeling the car slide out from under you is like nothing you've ever experienced. I'm pretty sure they make this as an add-on kit if the budget is super tight.
