Nearly lost my racing sim in a fire early morning.
Neighbours shed set on fire at 3am I was woke by a cracking sound.
Then seen the smoke by time I shot round to house n woke them up.
It's was burning past the saving point.
So ended up trying with hose pipes waiting for forecrew.
They turned up ran out of water, then had to look for a hydrant while still burning away.
That took nearly 10mins to get back into water running again.
My sim.was right next to it aswell.
Was very very worried it would have gone up aswell.
3 gas bottles went up aswell with awesome booo tho !!
Luckily it scorched the side only.
The chap who's fire it was lost his whole shed and the neighbours shed and all fences around it, my shed came from a school and apparently it has to be firelroofed so seems mine was not so easy to go up and spread.
    Still quite bad damaged tho.
But few nearly.lost the lot tho.. 20180213_075039.jpg
My Sims at the back of it.
Burnt the fence panel Down n trees then started on my outhouse shed.
I would normally have been In there tbh messing about at 1-5am if I was not tired.
Now vr would have been a whole.new level with robot recall n things blowing up.
    Defo close call tho 20180213_091856.jpg
That's my panel and how it was so close to going up big time.
Might not have been touched if fire crew was organised better.
Nobody hurt so all is good I was just mad with the fire crew as if that was a house and people.in having to leave it for 10mins to get hooked to water would have been really bad outcome.

So glad it was not a whole lot worse and it sounds like your quick actions saved your sim and minimised further fire risk of spreading.

It could have been worse, glad you're fine.
Things can be rebuilt/rebought, with life it doesn't work that way
A fire extinguisher next to your rig could be your next investment

@f1iceman do you have any idea what caused it? Did your neighbour use a 3D printer in the shed?
I've just bought a cheap Chinese printer and am currently building a concrete shed at the bottom of the garden, but even with that I plan to fully enclose the printer and make extra provision for it to be safely left unattended.
Of course I'm quick to think that it could have been a 3D printer when in actual fact there are a number of other plausible reasons such as kids messing about or electrical fault?
Glad your rig and shed survived! :)

    Hi.matey.
Yes it was the electrics apparently the chap never even had anything plugged into it.
So I am going to say would have been the light switch.
I don't know what the safety is of 3d printers.
I do know 1 thing tho a simple fire alarm would have awoke us earlier perhaps before it's really takes off.
I have put foundation in for one day I might build a proppa out building.
I've done a lot of work on my shed ECT..
Tbh I need to.update my build thread if I ca. Find it ! Lol

    Exactly that matey.
The fire alarm was the key with it all if they had that in there shed I would have heard that at smouldering stag and smokey faze. Prob had a small chance of putting it out with a hose but as it was a cracking of wood it had got going big time.by the time I got there.
I have extinguishers in my shed above my rig so I already covers that side.
Time for some alarms and stuff me thinks.

    Hi all.thank you for messages.
Just glad I was not playing in my shed at the time on vr as most the time I play is 10pm till 2/5am
    Fire was at 3pm ish.
Nothing was plugged into his shed other than a light switch but no power to kit was even connected no chargers or grinders plugged in so had to be the switch.
Maybe condensation as it was -1 outside.
Like I say was going to fight the fire from my house as I'm in the next street backing on his garden.
So though I will run back hose it from.where it's not spreading yet.
Got home n bloody hose was iced over now that is a wake up call no water if I wanted it.
Dimples thing you think you had was suddenly not useable due to just it being cold.that night.
    It's crazy.
I really thought it was my shed tho as I crypto mine on my vr rig in there 24hrs.
Am.my shed had a lot done to it now.
All.eletrics in with full trip fused box on a ring main full insulated so not cold or damp.
Also the mining keeps any cold.getting in at owt.
I've still.not been up there tho its all turned off now.
My kids were very shook up.tbh one was crying and would not go sleep next night.
Please all fit the fire alarms if you can to where ever you have electric going.
It's so easy to take things for granted but these alarm things it really cam save a lot of things or life.....
The ironic thing from it all tho was it rained non stop all day from 9am after the fire was put out.
    Typical.

I just wanted you to be alert with how sudden it can be and how unprepared you are.
I am defo going to be making a plan for action so I am covers as best I can house or garden fire.
The out come tho.now is it took.the conifers out and no doubt they will come.down and all the privacy is going to go which we like from them such a shame.
But on a better note I was holding fastest lap at Monza on project cars 2 with the rs500 for a few days few days before the fire
