How have you guys been mounting your heatsinks on the Jrk's?

    Spring clips or thermal adhesive?

    Thanks,

    Paul.

I've seen one mounted with a cable tie.

I was thinking of using a spring clip like the ones used on CPU heatsinks and have it screwed to a backing board of some kind where the JRK is mounted. It night have to be bent into shape though as the capacitors are in the way.

I use heat sinks from my local jaycar shop that come with thermal tape. Stick and forget.

Can anyone suggest a suitable heatsink or does it really matter? I'm thinking that I'm just going to end up buying a square copper northbridge heatsink and cutting it up to fit the JRK chips.

Thanks, I used your technique and it worked out well. The heat sinks were cut from a larger CPU heatsink with a hacksaw.

JRKs do get hot and need both a heat sink on the main chip, plus a cooling fan. Most buy a standard heatsink but nothing wrong with creative modding as @Roonster has done.

No you dont have to cover the little chip's, but i had a whack load of little sinks, just needed to slice them in 1/2 or 1/3 with the band saw.

Hi to all! I'm thinking about how to cooling JRK. For space reasons I want to make traditional way (heatsink+fan). I've received today the heatsink and I was really happy about my order...but now seems very little and not very tall... It's only my stupid worry or I should order another thing? Height is 0,5 cm.

Because if I see photo of other's heatsink seems very big, but maybe it's only something regarding proportions..

I've bought this because it has glue and thermal paste incorporated. This is the product:
    Code:

    Thank you so much.

The BIG 1" tall sinks aren't really needed. You should be fine with those.

    Thank you!

I've found in my house another solution, so I can choose between that little heatsink in the previous post (wich has adesive thermal paste) and...this:
    41ZA7H7Ol5L.jpg

    Those are 15mm x 15mm x 15mm. I can use with this thermal paste:
    519SY4zgtzL._SL1200_.jpg

Maybe it's a better solution of cooling? I can choose, I have already this item in my house.

The only question will be how to fix this heatsink to jrk, maybe with this:

You can get double sided adhesive thermal tape on eBay.

It's not better to use thermal paste instead of adesive? :)
