You're gonna have a lot of fun.
Are you building a full cabinet?

No, just going to be a desktop panel, I'm happy running Mame on my main PC running through my normal desktop monitor (that might change down the track though, I can always convert it into a full cabinet in the future), this is really just going to be a big controller that I can sit on my desk, still looking forward to getting it running though. Hopefully will get some work done on it this weekend. thanks for getting me started on it, I've been wanting to build one for ages.

So that was a fun weekend's project! Just need to sort out some graphics for it now so it doesn't look quite so plain.

I have been working on a Mame 'Mini Bar' of sorts for years it seems lol.
I built 10 single player joysticks that plugin into the Mini Bar as needed. (modular)
3 joysticks attach at a time. So 2x 8 ways on the sides and a star wars yoke in the middle etc.

Here is my list of joysticks to build.
    1 720 stick (done)
    P1010421.JPG
2 ikari warrior sticks (mostly done)
2 8 way sticks (done - then gave them away, but have boxes for 2 more)
    P1010023.JPG
    1 4 way stick
2 track balls (for 'boot camp'! - also know as combat school)
1 Star Wars Yoke (done - built from scratch - with red glowing triggers)
1 Tron Stick (with diy push pull spinner - spinner done)

    Here is my rough idea.
    - Mini pc goes in the top
    - Shelving in the back to stoke joysticks.

Wonder if I will ever be able to finish it lol

Two per side is even better cause you can use the other two for... 'tilt' :D

That's what I found too on my cabinet @Blame73 . Enjoyed playing pinball more than the arcade games.

Problem is though, you then find out about Virtual Pinball cabinets and have to build one as well. :)

Since I'm waiting for my new PSUs to arrive for my rig I'm modifying, why don't modify the arcade too?!?

I dismantled an old 32" TV that had a HUGE bazel with speakers on the sides of the screen and started adapting it to use it for pinball alone. I will also place a 22" on top of it as a secondary monitor. Right now I'm using a foosball table as a base, so the idea is to make it light and easy to move to play foosball.

My brother gave an idea today and I think I'm going to use an arduino with a spare jrk I have and make the table adjustable in inclination. If I could even rotate it would be just perfect

paint the screws with a marker
    [IMG]

    put them in place
    [IMG]

lay the cover on them, they'll leave marks on where to make the holes
    [IMG]

Built the support for the secondary screen
    [IMG]

placed the speakers and all the TV stuff
    [IMG]

    to be continued...
