How do the motor shafts drive off the gearbox?

To quote the motion dynamic website: " its hollow gearbox output shaft, though it can only be fixed from one side (it fits a 12mm shaft internally comfortably)."

I also see on the drawing a 4mm hole for what I assume is a grubscrew or cross bolt?

On your setup I see you have a keyway. Does the motor have the same keyway slot? Do the shafts that's listed on MD's site have this keyway?

Hopefully I've explained my question clearly :D

Can you post a link to these 50:1 and 60:1 motors - I'm a bit confused about all the specs and want to make sure I am looking at the right ones.

The link to the motors in your original post seem to be 20:1 (3600 / 180 = 20) but you're referring to them as 25:1???

Are they 20:1 or 25:1 and are they suitable for a shoulder mover 2 DOF set up or am I better off with the 50:1 or 60:1?

Hi @noorbeast ive been thinking for a while now about getting a better heave feeling (99% of time my rig is used for rally) so to my question, how does the heave axis feel in dirt rally when you jump ?

And yeah I love how your rig is small enough to fit on your kitchen counter tops great design ;)

Heave gives a real sensation of jumps and adds a lot to that style of simulation. It also brings tracks like Nords to life.

Wow. Lovely rig and brilliant craftsmanship. If i could build my sim as good ad yours (even half as good) my wife would not be pissed at me for doing so, and would probably have a go at sim racing in the end.

    Much appreciated!

I am about to pull it apart yet again and relocate the PSUs and JRKs for easier access.

Good luck. I may finally get to making mine in 2017. I am the king of procrastination. Added on Oculus DK2 to my sim but I think i'll appreciate it more with motion. Still need a way to justify the price of the motors.
I went the MotoMonster route but starting to think maybe I should also consider JRKs. Will see when I finally get the motors in January.

hi noorbeast im craig nice to meet you, im new to building sims as i work offshore and was wondering if you wouldnt mind me following your design for my sekf due to weight factor ect for travel to and from work, you have built an amazing bit of kit that is far more practical and superior to conventional steel builds. many thank craig

As long as it is not for commercial purposes you are most welcome to use any design aspect of my rig.

Hello noorbeast! Again congratulations for your wonderful simulator! :thumbs
I need your help. I have two engines similar to yours, but the system is plagued by a strange problem that I still can not understand.
The sim is powered by a PSU with 47A, but the power supply randomically goes into protection (I believe) for no apparent reason (I do not think that it is a current problem ...).
Which power supply you use for your simulator?
    Thank you!!!
