Welcome. Have to say, this is a nice looking Rig.

Do you prefab the tubular steel yourself or get them built elsewhere?

This tubular frame is made by OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer).

MotionHouse is only manufacturing linear actuators and controllers with base plate for Fanatec RSC, RSeat and PlaySeat.

    Thanks for asking.

The video (removed now) suggested it was a 4dof sim?
I don't see how this sim could do more than 3dof max?

Although it has 4 axis, it looks to only be doing 2dof in the vid?
Is it just hard to see 'heave'?

    Hi, yobuddy.

You are exactly right. Actually 4 cylinders model is 4-Axis, 3DOF.

And Yes, It's hard to see 'Heave', because we usually set the heave motion value to low about 15%.
It can be set to 100% at maximum, but too strong for me.

I'd driven 50% heave for half an hour, I felt like physically challenging with sweating a lot.

    Thanks you for correcting me.

Another - Nice looking rig - Don't know if I'm a fan of the squeaking actuators :think

That said the squeaking is killing any "realism". I don't want to be negative when new commercial rigs are presented but this noise is a nogo imo. Imagine you spend a lot of money (first killing argument) and your wife is killing you for sure when listening to the rig. If you tell her that you spent the monthly income then you're dead finally lol

That is quite outdated video for testing prototype cylinders.

Here is the video for current model.

Although There is still some noise, The final product makes much less squeaky sound than prototype.

And I think the filming exaggerates the squeaky sound, The noise in this video is a bit louder than reality.

We are trying to improve our linear actuator to make less noise.

Thank you guys, both SeatTime and Pit for your advice.

Sounds a little better - if you are using steppers, unfortunately they can be noisy beasts, all the best for your venture.

Thank you, SeatTime for your encouraging words.

Yes, You're right. Steppers are quite noisy at high speed.
So, We continuously keep studying for an appropriate speed profile which can minimize noise and maintain best performance.

We will also launch brushless motor powered cylinder which is almost noiseless.

That Pcar's motion tho....Lol it aint doin your rig any favors as far as showing off its capabilities.

Interesting on the brushless motor's...Look forward to seeing those.

motion looks slow and weak. I imagine overpriced to match. Have we even seen a per actuator cost on this yet?

    @jamesdio

Nice rig :thumbs... just to let you know, if you feel some kind of agressiveness toward your post, it is because some comercial guys, in the past had "misbehave" with loved members of the comunity... (your post is tottaly nice and friendly so you are tottaly ok. :D:D:D:D )

by the way i was surprice about one of your comments, you said that you manufacture your own actuators???

please, tell us the story of it's design, why you desided to make your own actuators, materials, failures of previous prototypes :D (of course tell us what you can tell, don't tell us your industrial secrests :D)

    :popcorn:popcorn

    best regards

    fer
