    I want honest replies of course, my question then should I post exactly what I am buying to find out what controllers or boards I need to connect the motors to simtools?

    I am not trying to start trouble but not being a smart person doesnt help me eitheir

    ok but will it control industrial motors? these motors are not small like these, they look like nema34 stepper motors

    The motors im using are AC motors, that have 100 RPM with a gear unit giving me 64 Torque

    He did but when I posted a question people started saying ohh it wont work, its too loud, but it seems the engineer did pick step motors and all I need is to get there controller for them

    SWo bad news they wont sell me there controller, so back to square one. Im really frustrated it, this is the platform design we have. and I have AC servo motors that I can get for it. it comes with driver for it, but I know I need a motion controller and whatever I do not know to communicate with simtools. I am really lost at this point and depressed @noorbeast @BlazinH

    I have an idea for you.

    1 Go to youtube and find a simple video explaining how ordinary single phase DC motor works.
    2 Go to youtube and watch a video on how a simple 2 phase stepper motor works

    Buy a very cheap and simple servo motor like this one:

    Build a small version of your desired platform with these motors.

    If you are happy,
    Buy small version stepper motors and controllers and try to do the same.
    At this point we cannot really help you too much with the steppers because no one here uses them.

    If you do not know how to do this yourself and you do not really have a good plan on how to get it done. do not do it.
    You will save yourself a lot of money and time.

    Instead spend your time learning to walk before running. Try the servomotors. Learn to wire things, learn to use micro controllers.
    Then when you have confidence try your stepper motors.

    Think about this for a moment and think hard on this point. Almost all the DIY motion platforms use DC servo motors. why? because it is easy, cheap and very effective.

    @Alexey I aprreciate it but I can work with stepper or AC servo motors, if anything I can get DC motors, , If I was to get DC motors what specs would I need to do this? Where can I get a control board to simulate with simtools?

    Sound's a bit like deciding your going to be a climber and choosing Everest as your first conquest.

    Stop torturing yourself and just build your motion simulator using either DC motor or Actuators like everyone on else on here ,,, Then when you've got you're build running you'll have a lot more of a clue as to which direction you want to take it,,,

    If you read through people's build threads who started out without a clue ,,you can see almost all of them build their basic idea an then expand from there ,,it's called common sense ,,, lol

    OK I decided to go with Actuators, to make a 3DOF like this one. It might be cost effective to take your guys advice and when I have more time will try again with stepper motors when I can get more help. I hope I did not offend the community. I am bit stubborn at times. So I saw this video, so what kind of actuatators I need to make this?

    Sorry but, why don't you read the forum? We all started like you and even with less knowledge (like me), but we took our time and searched the forum. All your questions are answered in the forum a thousand times in the past. It is lazy and and not polite to try to get all your problems solved this way.

    I searched this forum and it seems like you have to search your whole life away to get answers instead of having straightforward tutorials for each kind of motion simulator you want to build. I liked this site and Noorbeast and BlazinH but there needs to be an easier way for people with no skills to get answers faster. After I setup my 3DOF with the actuators, I will l have a cheaper solution and easier one then the ones that are offered here.

    I found everything I need and it will cost me 1600 USD to make the 3DOF, with derrivers and software and contoller, psu as well

    Are you ready for the reality hammer? Type in 3dof into the search bar and check the box that says "search titles only". Then you can scroll through the countless builds that have gone dead or failed.

    Most people start off projects extremely out of their depth as you are doing now. As a community we love helping new people to fulfill their goals but what you have to understand is that YOU have to be the biggest information contributor to your project. You cannot just expect us to do all of your work for you. We have stated the fact that no one here uses stepper motors nor has any software that can control the motors. We have given you a direction to follow (brushed DC motors).

    It is up to you to figure out the rest of your build because ultimately it is you that will be using it. You need to figure out the design so you know how heavy the platform will be. From that you will then know how powerful your motors need to be. Then you need to select the type of motor (Brushed DC, Stepper, AC, linear actuator etc) and find an appropriate motor driver to match the available control software outputs (PWM + DIR).

    Like I said before and you really should listen, do a small 2 dof scaled seat mover like this:
    (incorrect sway/roll settings so ignore incorrect movements)


    Then if you choose to you can make something like this:


    We will be happy to help you in whatever direction you choose to take but don't get upset when we don't spoon feed you or cannot give you a straight answer.

    Good luck with the cheaper and easier solution.
