Ignore the rust. It'll all be blasted and powdercoated. These are my simple 1.5mm steel brackets for my pots.

Question for everyone. Which part of the frame have you mounted your power supplies on? The middle traction loss moving frame or the main frame that is the base on the floor? I'm about to mount my JRKs on my traction loss middle frame between my motors.

Mine are also on the main frame. I taped all 3 together and added a little bracket on the sides to prevent them from being thrown off the rig in a Violent accident.

Also Im assuming you plan to use a healthy amount of loctite on that Lever arm Nut ?

Sorry, do you mean you have the power supplies on the part of the frame that moves during traction loss or on the part of the frame that sits stationary on the floor?

If you mean the nut on the main shaft, it's not actually doing very much. The shaft is held in by being a pretty tight fit and a sprung steel roll pin on the other side.

Use loctite, trust me. And yes my PSU's are on the top frame that moves with the TL......I have however been tempted to rewire and re locate them off the rig, but i fear about wire length and not being able to run thing's as sharply as i do now.

Don't worry, everything will be threadlocked before final assembly but the pressure on that nut is very very small. The shaft is basically press fitted and the steel roll pin was put in with a hydraulic press.

I think I need a bigger unversal joint. Any Suggestions? There's too much rotational flex in my top section of the sim.

    Other progress
Vinyl has arrived for covering the top of the wood parts.
Carpet is on the way for covering the pedal box.
Last few components are on the way for the traction loss levers
Only a couple more brackets to do before I can send the frame for powdercoating.

    ALMOST THERE!!!

A cut down car tailshaft makes a good uni joint with no twist.

I have one here from an R32 golf but i'm not sure it's the right type of joint. I need to try and get a 4x4 one I think.

Exactly what I need. I have a friend checking an old nissan 4x4 he has in his yard to see what the joint is like on it later.

    Hopefully it'll be something similar.

Very nice upholstering you've done there Barry. Time for a coat of black on the frame next. ;)

Yip, I think it's ready to get sent for blasting and powdercoating. I just need to do a few final checks to make sure i have no more welding to do.

    WOW! Wonderful news!

As @Archie suggests, enjoy it while you can, it ends far to quickly. My daughter came home the day before yesterday for one of her occasional overnight visits...to ask for help in buying her first house...
