Yerterday finally arrived from China the Monster Moto Shield. Now I want to try it out in the meantime i'm still researching the structure for my motion sim and learning the basics about physics and electronics to get the best wiper motor for my rig.

    Any advice? :sos

PS: I uploaded a photo of my monster moto still in his anti-static package. It's a beauty

Well, that was kinda obvious. But for a guy without DC motors and with little knowledge about physics and electronics it seems a bit complicated, at least for me.

Anyway, i'm going to take a tour in the FAQ, but I hope any advice for a starter like me. For now i'm going to ask some questions about the rig, but in another topic

Reading though lots of build threads where guys are using MonsterMoto's will help you greatly,,,you will get to see what problems people have run into and how they were solved ,,,
I must have had between 5 & 10 different pages open at any one time for about 2 weeks solid and every time i saw something i didn't understand i used the forum search function to find out more info on it,,, follow those steps and you will know everything you need to know to complete your project ,,,

If you have no knowledge of what you are doing it would be a good idea to make this http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/rc-model-for-motion-simulation.4600/ your first project.

I made a scale model to learn about SimTools. Now i'm still in the design stage (kinda complicated because my draw experience sucks), so I can ask more about the structure and everything related to. I know it is complicated even for a newbie like me, but if idk where to start, well, i started creating this thread and reading the most as possible.

In other news, i've bought another h-bridge. It is curious for me because i've spoke with the vendor about my project and the monster moto shield that arrived some days ago, and he tells me that he have some h-bridges with the same especifications, but seems to be a cheap reproduction of the monster moto. I'm going to test it anyways.

IMO most of us are using MM clones from China.

Doing some tests with the Monster Moto

    • I've follow a code hosted in GitHub provided by SparkFun. I've undertood some things, but I'm still reading, modifying and testing the code.
    • I solder a screw terminal to connect the PC Power Supply to the MM Shield. Those are a bit big so I couldn't solder it on the output. I'm not sure if I need another terminal, but I dont want to solder any cable to the board, maybe with a proper cable for not get troubles later.
    • I've made a cable from a spare pc fan cable with a molex connector. Also i'm using AWG 16 cable, IDK if this will work when I get the wiper motors, but for now I don't have problems.
    • For the lack of motors I'm doing the test with a mini PC fan. I've tested with a multimeter and this doesn't throw 12v, I'm doing something wrong? Later I'll test the other output.
    • I've screwed up a pc power suply because when it was turned on by accident I connected the 12v cable (the yellow one) and ground (black one). At least I have another power supply, but I learned the lesson: DON'T LEAVE ANY CABLE LYING WHEN YOU TURN ON THE POWER SUPPLY.
    • Yes, those cables are a mess, and the thin ones that are connected from the arduino to the monster moto aren't solded to the board. When I get a case to protect the circuit i'm going to solder connectors to make easy the wiring process.
    • And yes, I love Xbox :grin
