    Hi everyone.

I've made this one, mostly to see if I could, and if I understood what I acutally needed to do.

Also, it's managed to get me the approval I needed from Mrs Soc to start building and collecting for the full sized one :D

Currently running two el-cheapo RC motors from Jaycar, they're
GWServo's, Mini STD / Mini BB.
    Size: 35.0x16.9x32mm
    Weights: 24.3g/0.88oz
    Speed 0.19sec/60deg
    Torque: 3.4kg/cm / 47oz-in

Hooked up to an Arduino Eleven that I've had sitting around the house for ages.
I'm not running an additional power supply, so I've had to limit them to 85% otherwise it overloads and the arduino shits itself and stops working :)

My mum was coming to visit so I got her to pick up all my old lego from 15 years ago, and I remembered I had a bunch of Technic stuff in there including uni-joints, so I figured, why not!

I've had it running in LFS, (albeit a bit wierd. It tends to be on a bit of a delay, and doesn't really seem to co-relate with the motion on the screen...) but now I need an additional 160coins so I can download the Dirt3 plugin and see how it goes in that :D

Here's a pic, and I'll attach a video of it moving around later. 10945584_1064972856862365_8270834433562427933_n.jpg 1012984_10155122323950265_1646813852145864219_n.jpg

I have the coins! :p thank you!

Also, I don't have kids, so the lego's ALL mine :) Infact, sister in law and best friends asked about the lego for their future kids and I said not a chance! :) There's probably 2k worth of lego sitting there. None if it is newer than 20 years old, but it's still in almost perfect nick.

Just been working on it with Dirt3, and i've got a fairly average/sufficent set of controls in it now. The downside is that I've just used wire to tie the servo's to the uprights to control the chair. It has a fair amount of slop in it which isn't so good.

Here's a note for new starters like myself:
When you get it all moving, under Axis Assignments, disable Roll or Pitch and isolate one at a time. Pitch OR roll.
Play the game, make sure you've got either pitch or roll working correctly, then record your settings, swap it, and make sure the other is working as well.
It was really hard to see when it was all turned on together, but by disabling roll, I could see that my pitch needed to be reversed.

I've also added/fiddled/moved around the heavy weight I've got at the 'foot-pedal' bit. Without it, The chair sits backwards, and the slop in the joins makes it look crap :)

Also, in Dirt3, if you play on casual mode, it nerfs all the difficulty, you can't really get the car in to much trouble, and means it's a bit harder to see the movement in the seat. :p

Dammit! I am so jealous of that Lego collection! But kudos for not needing to share it with anyone. Lol!
The whole building a model thing is now making me wanna do the same.... Hmm. Imagine an accurate scale version working alongside the real thing. Now that would be cool.....

Turns out my wife's approval to go full scale has been rescinded... But only because I just bought a racing kart and my first race is in 4 weeks :)

That's a pretty happy compromise. I'll keep making smaller versions tho. Mebbe make this into a 3DOF. :) Maybe try to make a joyrider too!

I saw all the porcelain and sculptures on the "quite low" book case behind you @Soc and thought.. "He does not have kids, or he's round at a mates..."

    Nope. Definitely no kids :)

We couldn't have afforded to build this house if we did. Super insulated, doubled glazed units, ~25 degrees in winter with no heating. In summer, it's sits about 30 on really hot days, because the trees are still growing to help block the sun :)

Thought I'd add a video of it in motion with Dirt3

@Soc are you plugging a power supply into the Ard too, 2x Servos draw too much from the Ard.

Plus you can also tune the MIN/MAX's in the Tuning centre too bring more fluid motion too it all.
With my Model I set 5DOF all at 20% in the Axis Assignements then Tune each one in the tuning centre.

All up a positive model that looks cool too. I like !!!

Sway is backwards too, unless you have a Whack load of roll built into the profile, which it appears so when you Dip a tire off track, You get the MASSIVE dip on the side in question.

Also seems some of the Crash moments have FAR too much travel which would elude to robbies thinking in that there's Too much % for a particular axis
