The VNH2SP30 is an improved version of the VNH3SP30 motor driver, featuring current sensing, increased drive capability, and a higher maximum PWM frequency of 20 kHz.

    VNH2SP30 is used for Motomonster

Same as the Jrks run, yes @RacingMat a good proven system.

    Hi @RacingMat

Yes the VNH2 has better specs but only good for up to 16 volts

The advantage of the VNH3 is the 36 volt rating, as per the ST data sheet, both chips require heatsinks and fan to achieve 30 amp rating.

At 9.00 euro + tax, use two in half bridge config, so possible 24 volt, 30 amp, 2 dof setup cost

1 x olimex 328 = 21.00 Arduino board with industrial grade spec and 24 volt input.
    4 x olimex VNH3 = 36.00 euros + tax

    plus cooling hardware

Olimex is a trusted manufacturer, not a china knock off.

    regards Terry

    Hi Terry,

I'm looking for PID integrated board at the moment... butfor other projects I may have a look on these :)
Why did you say they are half-bridge? On the website, it's full bridge : so you would need only 2 for 2 DOF (and not 4), no?

Read the little * bot on the bottom of the picture Mat posted , over 16v the drivers (Full HBridges) overshoots badly and become unpractical to use hence the Jrks are set to Max 16V use, so is the Monster Moto. So No Go for 24v use, even as a bare chip.
