Ok, started researching this project in "the other" forum several years ago and put everything on hold due to price and lack of programming and electrical knowledge. Building circuit boards, trying to learn the language, best thing at the time were costly scn5's. Got frustrating really quick.

My how things have changed in a few years. Found this forum and started digging in. Ive been following posts by Bsft and Eaorobbie and have found any questions I may have had answered.

I was going to wait to start this thread until my sim was completed, but figured its close enough now.
First thing I needed to do was get my aging p.c. into shape. Decided I could probably get by with it for another year to save some money for this sim build. So I did a fresh windows 7 64bit install, and searched around the net to learn some pc overclocking to get my old quad core from 2.6 up to a reliable 3.2 clock speed.

Next up I decided triple monitors were going to be a must have and decided on these.

Of course my graphics card was not going to cut it, so after some more research settled on this. Some serious "bang for the buck"

First thing first, If I want to race I need a wheel. Decided on the time-tested g-27.

    Time to start building!
Didn't really have a plan other than knowing it's going to be a wood build since I can't weld, so I just start to wing it and plan as I go. Just received my seat from ebay and found a ujoint at work and started working on the base.

Then temporary wheel and pedal fitting.

A bunch of pictures to show some progress, they are self explanatory.

    Mounting monitors.

Time to work on the pedals.
I wanted the pedals inverted and needed them adjustable so I hinged the pedal board and mounted the hinge to the sliding bracket that came with my seat. Fully adjustable forward, back and amount of angle on pedals. Also very sturdy.

Now was also a good time to mount my 4 bass shakers for use with simvibe. Two under seat, one on pedal board, and one mounted near the wheel.

Received my large worm gear motors and made some adjustable mounts.

Now some painting, carpeting, and to test computer, and monitors.

Starting wiring for power supplies and JRK'S.
Anybody that doesnt know, google modding server power supplies. Lots of power for very little money.

That will about do it for now as I am out of money.
Only things I need now are the jrk's and to buy simvibe, but unfortunately too many bills to pay for the next month. Im gonna have to be patient. Be back in a while.

Awesome project. Looks like you're doing a great job so far.

Tell us more about those power supplies. Do you have specs or model numbers?

Just found them on ebay. Awesome. Very cheap power supplies. I'll be getting my hands on a couple over the weekend.

Thankyou for the preset. once iv uploaded the arduino code, and installed the preset into the SimTool Game engine, i get motor number 2 turns on and continues to run. motor number 1 does not move. When i try the "output testing" it doesnt change anything. Motor 2 continues to run. Could this be a potentiometer problem ?

@Nath Older . Perhaps continue this discussion with Mat on another thread that is arduino related . This is a jrk build.
@RacingMat , as well, please discuss this on arduino based thread, not a jrk thread.

Not too much to report right now. Did a little wiring.

Added emergency stop to kill all power, added toggle switches to switch on and off each jrk seperately.

Also added some accent lighting that comes on when I power the boards.

Thats it until I get my jrk's. Hall effect pots are on back order.

Awesome Progress Jem, Loving the Accent lights. My power supplies have been awesome so far, Not much running on them, but I will be upping the voltage this week when the 1k ohm pots show up, Ill let you know how that goes.

Did you short the fan pins to bring the fan speed down ? If not its well worth doing.

I filled the inside pins and coated the rail contacts with a liquid rubber.
It holds all the wires firmly in place, and will protect against shorts.

Because of this I can no longer get at or modify the pins.
I now wish I would have at least installed a pot to up the voltage.
Oh well, gonna have to live with 12 volts. I really should have done the fan mod also, they do sound like jets when they fire up. Doesnt bother me though, Im wearing headphones.

Im pretty sure you can remove that hot swap connector as a whole. I seen a mod where the guy eliminated the whole thing and just had a pair of banana plugs on the Case of the supply.

nothing wrong with 12v. My desk racer power supplies are 12v.
Although the actuator seat mover is 13.8v.

Good to hear, I was kicking myself for not adding the extra pots.
