I started again try to do sim. I found out that maybe it's easier to do 2dof first and after that maybe put more moving parts into the sim. I have made 4 different kind of prototypes but before i get the motors running i found some problems and forget those. Now a little older i deside to do what that diy tutorial tell me. I'm happy that i don't have to start from the scratch.

I own almost every parts what to need and some i ordered yesterday. Only thing whats i'm not sure is that i own arduino mega2560 and i haven't find what pins i use to interface with motomonster. Are they same as arduino uno?

    Hi!
i'm ordering potentiometers right now and i was wondering that what resistance is good for this project. I understand that it can be 1 - 10kohms but do i put it somewhere in code or does the arduino understand it by himself?

You don't need to edit the code because you are measuring the voltage. But I think 10k is better.

Here is some pictures whats it gonna look when you use old project pieces and join them together. It's not pretty but if it works, it's easier to do another with new parts.

    Useing m6 bolts and joints
    3.JPG
After another idea i weldet piece of iron in the chair but now i got good place where to put joints.

    4.JPG
The seat is going top of this

    5.JPG
I think it's strong enough for little heavier users too.

    6.JPG
Seat is going those rails and after i found the center i welded or just use screws to put it in place.

    7.JPG
I put the shafts on the outside because i'm thinking to put everything (motors, pots, electric.. inside some kind of case. Then everything is safe..

If you put all inside a box, be careful with heat... Maybe a fan will be a good solution.

Yes. I was thinking to do some kind of tunnel inside the box to take air in the front and blowing out near the motors.

good job so far @mrbeginner :)

yes Mega is fine as well like @Wanegain told you (he is a boss!)

you should reinforce this part (not enough vertical inertia) with L bar or T bar
if not it will bent under the weight

Plate is 2mm thick and i have one L-bar upper side but maybe it's better to do proper in first version. Thanks for sharing your knowledge :)

    OK!
2mm thick is really too small but if you have L bar above, it should be fine :thumbs

Now i put potentiometers in place. I use hydraulic tube to make little clutch if something goes wrong. I drilled 5,5mm hole in plastic gear and glued 6mm shaft on a place. After that i put pot in angle and allign shafts. Heres some photos to look at 6mm aluminium shaft.JPG Aligning.JPG All together.JPG

Little update what i made today. I'm gonna put arduino and motomonster inside the old power supply so they not get electric iterference. Right i have simex bass amp what i use for my Sinus live basspump. I still waiting my powersupply to put in the box too. The air for cooling i'm thinking to take under the box so the whole thing be quiet.

Now my power supply arrived (DPS-600) and i soldered the wires and it come to life. But there are little crackling sound near the front side. I'm not sure if my power cable is not right kind or is that normal? It's sound like there is some soldering lose. Have you heard same noise?

Could it be the fan maybe ? And Fwiw i could have sworn i heard some very quiet electrical whine on my 600pb's....as to it being the same sound, I have no clue but as long as your wires aren't arching together and the PSU puts out the proper 12V, I wouldn't be worried about it. 600pb's are cheap and easy to acquire if something goes south.

Thank's to reply. I'm Thinking that it's better put fuses to every place for safe and sound.

The moto monster arrived yesterday and now i put that and arduino together. I checked where to put cables in "DIY truck wiper sim" but I hope someone tell me if these cables are correct.:sos Arduino is mega2560 and motomonster is 2channel version. Then i was thinking is it better to weld those cables only or can i stack those card and weld all points together? Heres the pdf how i connect those wires. Are they OK? or should i order new parts before i take the first smoke out of these :grin

Checked many pictures and after that i was sure the wires must be right. Plug it in and after test and fail it's going to life. It moves and I'm lucky that I put the safeclutch on pot's because other Motor was wrong way. Now I have to ask what is the right potentiometer place. I mean that is it better than the motor shaft is in the middle, then pot is in the middle(2,5v) too. Or can I change the shaft min / max areas in simtool software?
