So do you have a design sketch of what you plan to build?

Welcome to the club. There's plenty of info in the FAQs with everything you need.
I pretty much made it up as I went along and I'm only a couple of steps away from finishing my frames and hardware. I just need to wire up and mount all the electronics and I'll be almost there. Don't underestimate how much work it takes to build a sim. There's a hell of a lot of factors to think about, right down to how to the pots are mounted to the motor shafts, how to balance the rig, how to make the pedals adjustable and much more.

    Good luck.

I have mk4 golf/bora wiper motors in my garage but decided not to use them. As far as I could tell they're slow and fairly weak but i think with the correct levers you might be able to make them work. I just saved up for the crab pot pulling motors from the canadian ebay. They worked out at around £250 for a set of 3 so I have 2dof and traction loss. I'll use a wiper motor for a belt tensioning system at some stage in the future.

True. You can get them for about £10 - £15 from most breakers. Make sure you read the guide on ground isolating them.

@SeatTime advises that you could test with an oscilloscope but bench testing with a motor would likely be more convenient : http://www.xsimulator.net/community...otors-mms-and-arduinos.6948/page-8#post-81280

If you are talking about Simtools and plugins you have enough coins to buy a download package and download them. If you are talking about games you can download the live for speed demo. The plugins for live for speed is included in Simtools.

You can use any 3d modelling software but sketchup is handiest to get. I just used a few pics off the build threads on here and made it up as I went along. Started off welding the basic frame shapes and then made brackets for mounts and pivot points etc as I went.

You have a limited amount of leverage with the motors mounted so close to the seat and with the rods attached so low.

Keep an eye on the motors when loaded, as I expect they will get pretty hot fairly fast and may struggle with the load.
