@gpau I had people telling me that it wasn't possible to make a 6DOF with 12v motors.

Don't listen to anyone who puts you down, everyone here are here to help it's an amazing community and I couldn't of done it without them all.

Try and try again until you get it right and the results pay for themselves and put the doubters to sleep.

Good luck in your build I look forward to see the progression . :)

do not listen to anyone, you have shown that it is possible to do it .
There are still some steps that I can not understand , for example, the triangle and the length of the arms .

I'm waiting for the engines and starting to recover the material . My question is , but if I make the smallest hexagon , for reasons of space , is stable for example instead of 75 cm I can do 60 or 65 cm ?
    Thank you

You really should put all of your questions in your own build thread.

There are smaller 6DOF rigs with @zigzag49s being about as compact as possible: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/6dof-dc-24v-smolka-zigzag49.7490/#post-89119

Hi Craig . gotta be a pest and ask for a picture showing the placement of say one of the gas struts setups :) , you mentioned gas struts to assist the motors ? i finally manged to see them in one of your videos but just need a closer shot Beg Beg Please :) my sim is still waiting for Controllers to be sorted so i thought i may be able to copy / introduce your gas struts method while i have some downtime.. im sorry if it was already stated , but are these undampened ? and you mentioned car breakers ? do you remember what type of car they came off ? this is me pushing my luck , i know but P3D to be ordered and would like to get back to contributing here with my 6DOF rig project any sketch or section pic will do Cheers

Hi Speedy , i looked at your version but may have missed something in the way its configured and how i'd apply that concept to my 6 DOF design ..

Just checked the Speedys video again .. my mistake that video is quite clear as to how they are fitted , i must have looked at another video the last time as im sure it was difficult to see the mechanism /.. my appologizes Speedy

feel free to post any answers in my build page as i dont want to detract from Silentchills project but this could be a key development for my units if im to use the 75-100 CTC Actuator arm positions

Brilliant!!! First driver had me in stitches... "I'm awesome me" as he drives around at Car Park speed... Changed when you said "put yer foot down"

    Great work on the setup!

Love it 'do you know how to drive' :p. Unfortunately Dirt Rally can be intimidating to the uninitiated. Looks like you were making running repairs as you went along ;).

Hi Craig loved the video , gotta say your system must be sound LOL if Joe public gets to beat it about and it survives , ya must have built it solid , they take no prisoner and treat it like a £20000 arcade machine , so nicely done , and congrats on the unit passing the beta public test :) ,, Struts fitted on my platform just waiting for Kangaroos to be Repaired & returned from the guys at DE .. Cheers

Quick update, Ive been watching @SeatTime videos and I kinda understand this centre of rotation malarkey. So I decided to copy his a little :D No maths involved just centered my seat and lowered it quite a lot .

My sim has been butchered but soon will be back up and running and looking a little nicer, I hope.

    20160113_204144.jpg 20160113_204137.jpg

Still no maths involved unfortunately but I hope it will be ok. Time will tell.

Edit: did I mention no maths involved lol I should check before I post

@SilentChill I think you will like the change. Having the correct roll center is a positive for realism and your stomach :). It will also lower the load on your motors:thumbs. IMO, the more a sim is able to move the more important it is that you get the roll center correct.
