    How heavy are your constructions?

    I mean the moving part

I have not weighed mine but the seat with its own internal metal frame, aluminum base mount plate, mounted Logitech speakers and 5kg Buttkicker is easy to pick up, so perhaps 10-15kg and that is what moves.

The 500x500mm base of my sim houses 3 motors and 3 PSUs, the heave sprung knee, a subwoofer, the Fanatec power pack and 3 USB hubs. I can pick it up so perhaps 25-30kg.

The aluminum frame for the wheel and pedal mount is really light, perhaps 1kg, but the Fanatec wheel housing at 8.3kg and pedals at 4.5kg are pretty heavy as far as controllers go.

Thats really light! My seat is a very heavy one. i think i have too change it. my upper construction is finished yet, now i have to buy the motors and wait for delivery of the motor controllers. Enough time to build the base construction! I'll put my construction on the scale.

ok thanks, at least YOU gave me more a direct link. If your motors are struggling, then you may have to look at stronger motors.
I used the 12v 200 w 25:1 with 45 mm CTC lever on my foot motor mount sim
The seat with wipers would not have worked, well, I did that in the beginning, hence later going to "desk racer" design.
But beware, the motors have to be spaced out. Thats why there is an angle of lever between motors and seat connections. @noorbeast levers are straight up and down. Wrong setup.

Mines are angled and the lever connection is higher than the COG, tomorrow I will post a video playing with it

It is yourself that is wrong @bsft.

As you have previously been advised the angle I use for the levers is 8 degrees and the reason you missed that is because in an unpowered state the 25:1 heave motor will back drive because of the heave knee spring and allow the seat to move up an forward, giving the incorrect impression of the angle: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dx-racer-compact-simulator.5866/page-13#post-81995

I also gave you the link to @mariano68 foot mount build thread, not sure how you also missed that.

    Hello,
I wanted to ask if these engines are powerful enough for a 6DOF , Smolka 24v 404,458 .
    Thank you

The rpm is a bit slow at 20rpm, but with 60 Nm you could make some longer levers to pick the linear speed up a bit.

@noorbeast: The motor description says: "Low Holding torque, we've found these are quite easy to back drive, so if you need a worm drive with holding power this worm drive is not suitable"

Is the low holding torque a relevant drawback, or does it not matter at all?

    Best regards,
    Markus

    @MarkusB , short answer, no.
    Long answer,
Ive been using these motors for years on heaps of rigs. What it means is with no power, they can be moved via the lever by hand. And under power, they will still move a bit.
Now, despite this, Ive had them under hire sim use on seat movers and full frames. Properly balanced, once you are seated in, there is no problem. Turn the power right off and the rig may slump to a resting position. For some people, this is unacceptable, and its seems for looks reasons only. They would rather have the sim sit upright. Fussy.
There is the option of putting 60:1 boxes on them, then they will hold in position a lot better, that and extra torque, but 60:1 boxes are not needed depending on the set up.
    Does that help?
    Dave.

Mechanical motor locks are easy to fashion and take care of the problem if you need your motor's to stay still when not in use.

    Thank you Markus,
    They have 60:1 boxes yet.
    The constructor say:
    Curent:
    nominal 10A
    Max 35A
    speed:
    60/40
    N/m
    Nominal8/10
    max 34

I order 2 today to try. (if it's not enough, I'll use for other system...)
