Ahh I see. I saw that one, but I have no clue how comfortable it'll be for extended use. I might just have to raise my budget a bit I guess :think

You can look at second hand seats...what is your budget range?

I was looking at trying to keep the total cost of the seat + shipping to $200 CAD, but I'm thinking perhaps that may have been optimistic. I can find a pair of them on kijiji for $300-350, but then I'm stuck with a spare seat and out an extra $150.

You could perhaps look at things like cheap race styled office chairs, which would be under 200 CAD:

That could potentially work, although I'm wary of the seat potentially not being able to stand up to the punishment. (I know some of the better ones have steel frames which would be ideal)

I have one of the original DX office seats with built in adjustable lumbar support on my rig and it is brilliant, as it has its own built in steel frame. You can no longer get them with built in lumber support, they just have an add on pillow.

Office seats are generally pretty hardy, as they are designed to be sat on all day, but like the old saying goes you generally get what you pay for.

That would be awesome if I lived in Toronto :p
I found one for $120 that's only an hour and a half drive away, I may end up going to pick that one up.

    Thanks for the suggestions :)

My buddy who frequently has to ship heavy auto parts just gave me a solution. I can just buy an american seat and ship it to Ogdensburg (A US border town that's about an hour from here). There's a little holding company that will store the item until pickup. So it'd end up being a shorter drive for a brand new seat, and I get to dodge the ludicrous shipping fees (I'd still have to pay customs but that's nowhere near as bad).
