anyone else has a monster moto that gets to hot to cool with air ?
I have one on the traction control that only makes it for a minute or 2 testing back and forth.
Then it shuts down because of overheating.

I already have a fin on it and also a aircooler.

Is this normal or just bad soldered and getting hotter because of that ?

It is a bad Monster Moto anyway, because one chip wasn't working as it should. Got refund for it.
But looks like that working one has a heat issue, compared to a another fully working one from a another seller.

Lots of issues with MM's you have to test them first under load and check the voltage output on both chips. I had a nightmare with them but got 12 working ones in the end.

Also your traction loss motor should Never really be "Running" all the time per say. At least with a Proper profile behind it....... Is your frame REALLY heavy or do you have a lot of friction that the motor is then forced to overcome ? can we see a picture of your setup ?

If you use one MM only for TL then do this:
    http://www.xsimulator.net/community...cts-as-a-single-motor-driver-more-power.5482/
Less hot, better performance, longer lifetime.
I use one MM for TL same like you without a fan but a cooler which is only lukewarm. The TL should only break out when the car does. You could optimize your SimTools parameters like using a deadzone and very soft Kp settings in SMC3 or whatever code you are using.
